I think I felt most bad for the mom, that call from the TV station in the beginning seemed like something of a prank...

It's really weird and intense. I didn't understand it, but to me that's not a prerequisite for a good movie, so I enjoyed it.

And yeah Requiem for a Dream is amazing. The book is awesome too, I'm a big Hubert Selby Jr. fan.
