Anyone ever seen this film? it is awesome!

Basically it is set in a society when there is no law, so once a year the government (japanease) select a class of school kids and put them on an island where they have to fight to the death as only 1 is allowed to leave alive.

Awesome movie. It's awesome because it's so realistic. They don't edit anything out, it's just straightforward chaos and death.

I had ideas of a remake while reading the novel; which is far more gruesome than the movie.

The first movie is a great story with shocking action in it. The second, aside from the Saving Private Ryan homage, just took the spirit out of the idea for me.

Most of the time at least...too many great books have been made into terrible movies. Not this book tho, the movie was pretty good

I got the sequel with hope in my heart...if it wasnt for the over acting of the evil teacher,the lack of background to the characters, the original director and a reasonable plot....it still wouldve been rubbish

I have never heard of there being an anime, but i know for a fact there is Battle Royal Manga collection. Which consists of about erm 12 volumes or sumthin. I only have 2 and 3. And in some ways the manga is alot more violent than the actual film itself.

I stopped watching the sequel about 30 minutes into it.

It is probably the worst sequel ever made.

The first was believable. The only thing you really had to suspend your disbelief for was the premise, kids fighting for their lives on an island. So long as you could accept that premise, everything else fit.

The second one didn't. There was no reason for what they did to the kids. They made them assult an enemy base as a platoon, partnered them up and if one partner died, so did the other. They put the characters into a situation that should have bred unity, all the tension between characters had no base in reality and was totaly unbelievable.

I love how that scene was made. All of that could have been prevented and more kids could have survived, but thanks to that one person, everyone dies. (well not everyone) I also like the poison scene because that all could have been prevented too, but it because of the mistake of that one girl who tried to kill Nanahara. I think it tells us a great lesson.

good movie... i have battle royale 1 and battle royale 2 on dvd

the story is pretty sick... students sent to an island to kill each other, each student has a weapon given to them at the start of the game. weapons are either a gun, a machine gun, crossbow, to grenades, to knives and stabbing weapons, to poison chemicals, to scanners(tracks other players), to binoculars, and to a trash can lid(the main characters weapon)

in battle royale 1... there were 2 transferee students that were in the game... one of them is a winner of a previous game and the other is a sick bastard who joined the game for the fun of killing people.... what a sick dude but cool....

in battle royale 2... the story is straight forward... students again sent to an island to kill some rebels... each student has a bomb necklace in their necks and if their partner dies their necks will explode.... sick but cool

I've only seen it a couple of times but it's a brilliant film. I have yet to see the sequel but I heard it sucks anyway.
