hey

this is a great thread Idea, although rather odd, that I find this on page 2, with not even a single comment

let's keep this alive.

it's really not, MSN's transfer rate is ridiculously slow. it would be easier to get AIM or to upload it using yousendit (and with yousendit other people can enjoy it too)

agree with YSI

yeah YSI, I agree.

but it's just people without AIM (like me), will never take a look in the AiIM trade thread, so maybe we should rename it as the AIM/YSI thread :p

although that would become more an extended version of Antihero's thread.
and I don't know if MX wants to promote trading albums anymore, than is already done, it's still illegal...

i actually find MSN to have a much better transfer proctol than AIM, AIMs is buggy, very buggy, and screws up for me a lot, but while MSN messengers might be slightly slower (and i mean slightly, its barely noticeable), ive never had any sort of problems with it remotely close to the crap AIM has given me

Generally speaking, most europeans use MSN, whereas most americans use AIM. That is generally speaking. Those of us who have lived in both tend to have both, such as myself.

It's MSN that's popular in Canada. I don't know anyone around here with AIM.

Anyway, trading full albums on msn wouldn't work to well, the transfer rate in extremely slow, and you have to zip all the albums, because only one file can be sent at a time. On Aim you can sendentire folders at once.

in MSN more than one file can be sent at a time, my irish friends always send me like 5 or 6 pictures at a time of stuff i missed when they decided to stay out til 6 AM drinking, and i have class the next morning so i head back earlier.

Really? The most I can do is three. And when I said more than one, I was more refering to sending an entire folder at once, as aposed to individually transfering one file.

i have just registered on recordnerd, but to be quite honest i can't really be bothered to list all my albums on it, i'll get round to it at some point. i'll post my msn / recordnerd list when i've put all my albums on it.

I have MSN and use it all the time for IM because it's what's most popular over here. But transfer speeds can be painfully slow, you'd be much better off just downloading AIM. Plus AIM lets you share your music folder with your contacts.
