My PC is messed up. I used to download all sorts of crap and had Limewire and never ran Ad-Aware etc. Well I bought Battlefield 2 and I want to clean up my PC so it can run as best as possible. I removed all my old games and the programs I never used. I downloaded Firefox, and ran Ad-Aware about 3 times in addition to a full system scan. I ran it until there was nothing left to do. Tonight I'm going to defrag the harddrive. But I still need some help. In My Documents there is a folder called "filelib" and in that folder is a bunch of other folders with screennames on them like "bigolbootywhtgrl" ( :lol: ) and "psychoshorty6969". One of them even has my screenname on it. In these folders is nothing. I'm goign to delete it but any idea what it is or does? Also, when my PC starts up I get a pop-up box that asks me if I want to run or cancel this application. It's called "system32" which is essential to my PC if I'm not mistaken and it doesn't matter whether I click "run" or "cancel" because it never does anything, and the box always comes up twice. It also says Microsoft can't verify it and that it may be harmful. I've tried searching for it but can't find it. When I click my C: drive there's a readme document called "mmcInst" and in it is a bunch of crap like this:
* [2-15-2005][10:10:52] ISLayerServiceDetect()
* [2-15-2005][10:10:53] IsRageTheater()
* [2-15-2005][10:10:53] IsRageTheater(): Rage Theater NOT detected!
* [2-15-2005][10:10:53] iscapPAL (): 0
* [2-15-2005][10:10:53] IsTunerNTSC(): NTSC NOT detected!
* [2-15-2005][10:10:53] IsTVWTunerNTSC(): NTSC detected!
* [2-15-2005][10:10:53] VideoInType(): PAL or SECAM NOT detected!
* [2-15-2005][10:10:53] bTVTuner:value is: 0
* [2-15-2005][10:10:53] ISLAYER:ATI Hardware detected
I've also got a .NET file called "PDOXUSRS.NET" and I don't have any programs on my PC that could open it. Last, I've got an executable program called "xz" and when I click it nothing happens. I know this is a lot to read but any help would be great. Maybe even sticky it, if there's more people that have issues with their PC's.

The filelb I believe is your folder that has all the screen names you have logged on, and the files you have received.

Yeah that's what it is.

Run a virus scan.
Get Spybot and scan with that.
Get Microsoft Spyware Beta aswell.

Seems like you have some sort of virus, or maybe a trojan.

PDOXUSRS.NET is ether a linux used file or a networking file. Can't say I'm familiar with it.

If your pc is filled with unsurmountable crap, I'd suggest backing up important files and then reformating.

I got Avast antivirus and the first thing I did was go to my C: drive and all of the sudden this alarm goes off and it says "THERE IS A VIRUS ON YOUR SYSTEM" or something. Turns out the 2 executables in my C drive were viruses.

hey, anyone know how to access Firefox's mail thing. It's like Outlook only called Thunderbird or something. Or do I have to download that separetely?

Firefox doesn't come with it, Mozilla does, but you can download it separatly anyway.

http://www.mozilla.com/ Get Thunderbird, right there on the main page.

You mean mail servers? Depends on your ISP, what is it?

I'd assume it's something like mail.verizon.net but give me a sec to google it.

EDIT: incoming.verizon.net and outgoing.verizon.net.
