It was a bit of a let down, but I wouldnt say it was their worst album.

julianne

about 4th for me.

I'd say it's my favorite just because it has more songs I like than any of their other ones. Then again they have about 2 albums worth of stuff on there so that could be why.

I really can't listen to them too much any more though. The band in general reminds me of my ex-girlfriend because she used to listen to them all the time. Bah.

I love the new single Hump De Bump

Stadium Arcadium rocks my tubesocks. I don't think they've ever put out a bad album, they've made a lot of bad songs, but they don't have one album I'd call bad. Hell, I even enjoy their S/T and Freaky Styley, so yeah.

I would doubt a man going by the name of Flea would have a big willy.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik & generic responses ftw.

Gah, all my friends like the Chili Peppers. Some are completely obsessed and it's all they listen to. I never got to that stage.. but, yeah, they're awesome.

samthebassman
05-05-2007, 04:45 AM
Yep.

RIPkezia

I just hate their style change. There is too much pop and not enough of the old chilis. I don't mind change, but this was just too much for me.

samthebassman
05-06-2007, 02:15 AM
Hump de bump is terrible, one of the worst tracks off of Stadium Arcadium.

samthebassman
05-28-2007, 10:38 PM
I was going through my cupboards today & found the box set Stadium Arcadium limited edition thing that came out when it was first released, it has spinning tops & marbles and other silly crap in it and I paid $130 for it, what a douche.

Granfalloon
08-02-2008, 07:27 PM
anybody else think that all their best songs aren't on their albums, cuz all my favorites are like the bicycle song, funny face, rivers of avalon, n sikimikanico [sp], many more ... other than that though 1 hot min. is amazing

Granfalloon
08-02-2008, 07:28 PM
... and yea hump de bump and most of stadium is utterly horrible

Dimmu Burger
08-02-2008, 08:10 PM
They usually have 2-5 good songs per album.

2muchket!
08-02-2008, 08:23 PM
Cant stand them now really.

Just really bland and awful.

marcus_in_absentia
08-02-2008, 08:50 PM
yea i loved their stuff during the californication era, beautiful pieces of work. their latest stuff is still great, but stale compared to what they have done in the past

Dimmu Burger
08-03-2008, 07:17 PM
Yeah Stadium is meh.

Jaymz Hetfield
08-03-2008, 07:55 PM
Ya know, usually when bands change their style....it makes them sound pretty bad. But IMO, Californication and By The Way are by far their best albums....and 2 of the best pop albums you'll find. I agree with most that Stadium was mostly pretty weak though.

Dimmu Burger
08-03-2008, 08:01 PM
True dat.

SkaRobotArmy
08-04-2008, 04:05 AM
ya, stadium should have been released as a single album with 12-17 tracks, trimming all the crap off. it would then rank very near to any of their others i think.

it does have some AWESOME songs... they just did too much and apparently theyd already cut a lot of songs from the album...

the biggest different i found between this album and the rest of their work is the drummer is more of an important part of the band. hes always fit the bands sound perfectly, but on stadium i think he joined the other 3 as a stand out musician and his parts became much more important to the music.

marcus_in_absentia
08-04-2008, 05:26 AM
exactly. remove half the songs and it will be ALOT more listenable.

I like their older singles a lot, I should get some of those albums.

Not too fond of their modern work.

Jaundice

I was just thinking about this band a few minutes

I came to the conclusion that they have likeable singles and are casually unique.

Aaron
10-05-2009, 07:03 PM
I really hate RHCP. Their old stuff was terribly produced and weak. Their new stuff is radio friendly tripe.

Jaundice
10-05-2009, 07:05 PM
radio friendly music is brilliant

One Hot Minute is one of my favourite albums.

Jaundice

Aaron is really good at disliking well-respected bands. You're the only person i've ever known with the balls to dislike The Smiths. Other than me.

You went a bit too far with Weezer, but it's all good.

Brew
10-05-2009, 07:29 PM
I've never really seen what makes The Smiths so great. They have a couple of alright songs but on the whole they're pretty meh.

Aaron
10-05-2009, 08:00 PM
I don't like The Smiths because they write in the same dynamic for all their songs and think that whining is a valid vocal technique. Musically they're alright, but vocally they're kinda irritating and grating.

Weezer just write average music that I think people have misinterpreted as subtle brilliance, but to me it's just oversimplified pop that fails to hit its mark. They're a band I understand people liking.

Jaundice
10-05-2009, 08:04 PM
lol, do you honestly think that weezer is average or typical in any way?

i've honestly never heard a band that sounds anything less like every other band. thats just my opinion tho

Aaron
10-05-2009, 08:05 PM
I mean average in a 3/5 way; They're not groundbreaking but they're not bad either. Elvis Costello's earlier stuff was pretty similar, and I think is a huge influence on Cuemo.

Jaundice
10-05-2009, 08:07 PM
you keep saying weird things. weezer broke into more unexplored territory than almost any other band i can think of.

Dimmu Burger
10-06-2009, 06:16 PM
I like a bunch of RHCP songs but they don't have an album that I can listen to all the way through without skipping the filler songs.

McP3000
10-06-2009, 06:28 PM
Otherside is like one of the best songs ever

tbh its hard to hate the singles off californication or BSSM

everything else is really bland

Californication reminds me of finding the CD in my closet and rocking out to it on the way to school pretty often this past semester.

MrPoopular
10-07-2009, 06:39 AM
Jaundice, theres nothing new about Weezer whatsoever. If you really think that weezer are an innovative band then i'd hate to see what you think is safe music

burtonbassist_101
10-07-2009, 02:23 PM
heeyyooo, listen what i saayyyooo.

what a great song.

Jaundice
10-07-2009, 02:25 PM
I'd give examples of bands but I usually don't listen to music and then think "hey this is safe"

so i cant think of anything off the top of my head

Jaymz Hetfield
10-07-2009, 03:28 PM
Californication and By The Way are great pop albums. Some turds may say that is an oxymoron, but those people have no soul.

Jaundice
10-07-2009, 03:30 PM
Yeah you care way too much what people think if you say great pop is an oxymoron

FlameZ

I never really got into Blood Sugar Sex Magik. I prefer Californication

Meatplow
10-17-2009, 04:21 AM
A lot of the songs on Californication were some of the best they've done, I just found the production difficult to listen to long before I realised exactly why it never sounded that great to me.

I've been cranking Blood Sugar Sex Magik and What Hits!? a lot lately

witchxrapist
10-17-2009, 04:24 AM
Californication has bad filler tracks, but such good gems.

By The Way is my favorite album of theres. IDK I've given up on greatest hits collections.

Meatplow
10-17-2009, 04:26 AM
I've never been familiar with any of their earlier albums so it's good to listen to for the moment.

I should probably get The Uplift Mofo Party Plan or Mothers Milk or something
