ITT football = soccer.

Football Manager 2005 is all I seem to be playing nowadays. I got a new PC recently, and since I'm once again capable of running the most recent version, I've rekindled my addiction. Everything from tactical experiments to training schedules to finances to managerial mind-games (what a great addition!) just absorbs me completely.

Moreover, I've had more great conversations about this, and previous Championship Managers, than any other game.

So....discuss away, I guess. Anyone else play them? Do you like using big-name teams or building a lower team up? Any suggestions for great players? Any great tactics?

A tactic I found works great in the Champions League.

4-1-1-4.

Flat back four, with a defnesive midfielder sat just in front of them. Then a central midfielder right in the middle of the park, set to run as far forward as possible. Then a flat FRONT four, with wingers on either side.

It looks awful on paper, but I beat Barcelona 3-0, twice, using Tottenham. I also beat Monaco 4-2 and 5-2. All these games were first attempts - no saving and restarting for me.

It doesn't seem so great in the Premiership though.
