They used to be in order by how many playlists the albums were on. Because of this, I've discovered lots of great music I would've otherwise never found. Now it's just in some random order I can't figure out. It's been like this for a while. Is there any reason for this I fail to see?

There has to be other factors, because I investigated those possibilities and they weren't right. Unless there's some super strange ratio I'm unaware of it's more than just views and playlist numbers. I rather liked the static lists, though. I discovered ( ), OK Computer, and Kind of Blue because of that little list.

Now that makes sense. I always wondered why recent releases were towards the top so often.

Ah, I'd noticed those. They do a pretty good job. Just today, I checked out some of Blackwater Park (which I believe you featured). 'Twas pretty good, even though I only got one track at the time. I'll be looking into it further now.

Basically Med has said all, but I'll sum it up again:

the new album charts are a conglomeration of both views of the album (number of times people looked at the review), and how many people added the album as a favorite. They are done on a weekly basis.

I'm planning on adding a link to the old charts if people prefer those
