I decided to write some songs about urban legends, monsters, unexplained events, etc. I **** you not. I hammered this out late at night and haven't bothered to re-write it yet, so feel free to tear into it.

Intro
Creeping through the mists
Hiding in the fog
The creature waits to find its prey
The thirst for blood it cannot slake
Any longer...

Verse 1
In times of reason, a monster lives
Haunting all our dreams
It thirsts for blood, it feeds on fear
And prowls as the moon above gleams

The cries of livestock are echoing
In your waking ears

Soon the night falls, the clouds are black
Stars all smothered out
Your heart is pounding loud in your ears
Your screams are echoing throughout
The night!

Pre-Chorus
Creeping through the mists
Hiding in the fog
The creature waits to find its prey
The thirst for blood it cannot slake

Chorus
El Chupacabra
El Chupacabra
El Chupacabra
The Goatsucker

Verse 2
Day has broken, cold morning sun
The damage has been done
Victims bled dry, the trail unseen
You fear the worst is yet to come

The sunset now brings only dread
Of the creature's return

Pre-Chorus
Creeping through the mists
Hiding in the fog
The creature waits to find its prey
The thirst for blood it cannot slake

Chorus x2
El Chupacabra
El Chupacabra
El Chupacabra
The Goatsucker

pretty original idea. but not exactly originally done. and i couldnt exactly relate to this song in any way. it seemed more liek a horror poem. reminded me of a stoned edgar allen poe... lol. yah but i didnt liek it very much. and for the reasons that it just seemed a bit juvenile. but anywho, you could possibly use your liking for the unexplained and supernatural and what-not and apply it to liek an emotion you want to write about. just a suggestion though...

You can offer it to Alice Cooper. May be he will come up with any good song out of it.

First one... kinda harsh.

Second... not quite sure what to make of it.

Anyway, I really don't want to write obtuse lyrics about emotions or whatever. That's not my style. Sometimes, I just like to write a song because I like the subject matter. Why does it need to be filled with allusions to ephemeral concepts?

My song B-Movies actually got pretty good reception and I stated up-front that there was no deeper meaning.

I agree Steerpike. It's not as fun to write a complex song about how you feel than to write a funny song. Or at least a not-so-serious song. I'm sorry, this is a completely pointless post, because I'm not going to crit this, I just wanted to show my support.
My apologies,
Eran
