I've always sang through a PG58 running through my Drummer's Kustom Amplifier, simply because it was the only amp with an XLR in. I don't like having it in the same amp as the drums anymore, and I never really did. I was just wondering what the wattage should be for a vocal amp. Keep in mind, I'm just talking about for rehearsals. I was thinking a practice amp, like a 10w Marshall MG10CD Combo practice amp, no? We play through the following:

Rehearsal Setup...
Bass: Behringer Ultrabass BX1200 (120w)
Lead Guitar: Line6 Spider II (75w)
Rhythm Guitar: Roland Cube 15 (15w)
Drums: Some Kustom Amp (60w)

I think a 10w or 15w cranked would break through, we play at a relatively low volume compared to gigs. Personally, I think it would break through - but what do you all use? Do you all even run your vocals through their own amp?

Yeah, I don't think 10 or 15 watts would do it.

One of my bands practises with a little 100 watt PA for the vocals. It's not the best, and it often struggels to keep up, But it does the job. And I don't really care if it gets ruined.

I've also got a couple of 300 watt powered speakers which I run vocals through for the more serious stuff. I will care if these things get ruined.

Why is your drummer amped? Has he got electric drums?

I was thinking that. I can see amplifying drums for a live show, my drummer usually amplifies his bass drum for live, but unless it is an electric set I see no point practice.

It's because when he first started playing drums, his parents wanted him to get an electronic set so he could use headphones so they wouldn't have to hear it, and that he could play as late as he wanted without worrying about waking his parents up. What exactly is a PA system?

What exactly is a PA system?
"Public Address System"
It is used to amplify the overall sound through main speakers placed in front of the stage. These are mainly for the audience.
They can be used for just vocals, or all the instruments.

Thanks alot! What is a mixer?
Well, its a device with multiple inputs to accept multiple instruments/mics etc...
The mixer sends a signal out from its output to go to a power amp or depending on what your using it for.
The mixer allows you to adjust the level of each thing thats plugged into it to get the right balance(mix) of everything. They can also allow you to adjust eq settings and various others.
