im looking to buy that 8 track above... ill probably end up paying 500AU for it...
good price or not???
also...
it says you may use a USB cable to send .wav files to your computer (mac/windows)... if so... when you send these files into audacity or something? would you then be able to mix them??
or would they be one song??
if so how do you mix, cut and paste etc... im confused!!!!!!!!!

looks very nice... whats that in £?
You'd use audacity etc., yeah.
you'd have to import each track individually.

exactly. But it still looks like a decent piece of nice colourful gear.

do you think this or a mixer would be a better option??
and with a mixer if you record straight into audacity does it come in layers or still as one thing?
what would sound better 8 track or mixer?

No a mixer records in stereo, meaning what you have in audacity will be two tracks, combining everything you have in the mixer. You can control the stereo positioning of each signal with the pan pots.

i'd take the above over a mixer for recording anyday, despite it only having 2 inputsd.
now that *and* a mixer? hot stuff.
