Well, I know a friend who has this recording type interface, but it's not actually a huge interface. Basically its like a black pipe that plugs into the bike imput that just allows you to plug your guitar into it. Thats the only thing.

I want to buy this type of thing, assuming its not a huge amount of money, but I don't know where to find it, and I don't know what to search for. Please give me some answers, or inexpensive interfaces. Thanks

Also, on the program, Audacity, how do you change the sound of the guitar? I know how to do the effects, but on my friends garageband program, he can click like different types of tones. Is there anyway to do that with Audacity? Because when I record, something i want to be cleaner, is extremely muddy. Thank you.

Possibly

You could order it online (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/335219/)!

Don't you have a Radioshack nearby?

you need softwarre like amplitube or guitar rig to get decent guitar tones from your pc (done direct).

amplitube is somehting you have to buy i'm afraid. I beleive it processes the guitar after it has been recorded.

your best bet is porobably either a modeller like the behirnger v-amp 2 or v-tone DI, or mic'ing up.

SimulAnalog Guitar suite ( http://www.simulanalog.org/guitarsuite.htm ) is quite good vst, and it's free.

But easiest and cheapest way is really probably buying an V-Amp2 and recording through it.
