Im thinking about picking one of these up. Do you guys recomend this versus 2 seperate things, like the full protools version and a different type of box? I am a home recording noob, and want to start. Anything your guys can tell me will help. BTW- i have a fairly decent dell laptop.

The Mbox is the least expensive way to get a working protools rig. You can get the M-Audio adapted version of ProTools, but then you can't work on projects done on Digi hardware (that's a load of crap, btw).
If you're dead set on ProTools, you should probably spring for the Mbox.
