iv been told its best to DI bass.
Basically, a DI box changes an unbalanced signal to a balanced one yeah?
So assuming my soundcard has unbalanced inputs, is there much point in using a Di box, as its only going to end up unbalanced when it goes into the soundcard?
Gaz
just something i posted in a different thread but no-one has answered, and i have another question so decided to make a new thread.
Other Question:
The afformentioned soundcard will have two mic pre-s built in (yes they are balanced, somewhat defeating the point of the question above, but i need to know for general reference), and i will be running condensor mics from these pre's (which do supply phantom power).
Would it be possible to add a compressor between the two, as im just worried that the mic might not get powered by going through the compressor, and there isnt an insert point anywhere on the soundcard.
Hope you can help, gaz x
