Audacity Problem

I need help. If I play something into Audacity, no other recording programs that I'm aware of, does this http://img214.echo.cx/img214/9554/audacityproblem1hp.jpg . What is wrong. I am playing then kssch. It sounds terrible. What is wrong with my program/computer.

Weird problem. Are you sure that it isn't just broken cord? And what equipment you use to record and what soundcard do you have?

Or then Audacity just has a bug...

It works fine on Krystal, but I like Audacity...

That is very weird, maybe you pulled a connection loose, does it happen all the time?

windows 98 :D those were the days...

I've no idea, that seems extremely strange, since it sounds like a hardware fault.
