hi there, I've noticed that when I wake up from sleep, and my voice is incredible for about an hour. I can sing all the high-pitched and low-pitched notes. And later it just goes back to normal and I can't sing ****, and there is nothing left of my beautiful falsetto opera voice.
Help me! How can I save this voice for all the day and just for the morning?

I heard that eating/drinking certain stuff before you sing isn't too good. Could this be it? I'm not a vocalist so i wouldn't really know.

could be, but I don't think that's the thing. Because there was a time when I didn't eat anything for a week, and the same thing used to happen. When I wake up - awesome voice, 1-2 hours later - normal voice.

Your vocal technique is probably poor. When you wake up in the morning, you are probably stress-free and without tension; this frees the voice. Throughout the day, you may be abusing your voice without realizing it, and getting more tense. This would account for why your singing voice "disappears."

thanks, I'll try relaxing my throat and stuff. I've got a really weak voice, like earlier Kurt Cobain's one. How can I strengthen it, what should I eat and drink? (I HATE water)

maybe if you spent literally 2 minutes doing a tiny amount of research into this topic, you would know that coke is a terrible thing to drink for singing. research, THEN ask silly questions...

They are right, water is essential. Sodas, or anything with sugar and caffeine, affect your voice adversely. Try adding lemon or lime to your water, or buy bottle water with flavors added.

When you firswt wake up in the morining being as you have not used your voice in say 8-10 hours, the larnyx and vocal chord folds are very loose & they create an effect of your voice being deeper & more resonant, and since the vocal chords are completely relaxed, you can sing with much better range.
As far as taking care of your voice.
I don't drink alcohol, smoke , or do drugs..
Before a performance or recording, make sure you drink only room temperature water or juice, avoid dairy because of mucus, hot tea with ginsing & lemon are great & lot's of vitamin C, which coats & protects your vocal chords...

aight. thank you people, you're all sweet! :D
so I learned that I should relax, not drink stuff with extra sugar and bubbles, and not be an alien to water. that's really hard. I should go back to Pluton...

there are songs there, I recorded 3 of them a month ago, but I'm thinking on re-recording them and adding 9 more, and release them as a self-titled album.

I must've missed this thread. But everything has already been said that I would say...other than...
soda....The phosphoric acid in that stuff arrives to the plant in a HazMat truck..that is usually one of those silver tankers....HazMat means HazardousMaterial. Of course everyone has heard that you can use coke to clean that residual film off of your car windows. I have uncomfirmed rumors that some cops carry it in their car to clean up blood stains...wouldnt surprise me none.
Plus it usually has caffeine in it...bad for the cords.
Be sure to watch out for tea too...it has caffeine as well...not as much as coffee usually...but still....
for me...I'm crap when i wake up. Especially when I've been doing crazy workouts like I've been doing lately. I almost scare myself sometimes.
And like kristina said..some people almost wreck their voices through the day...some people are really hard talkers and talk with high squeezed larynxes...and it will make a difference in your singing voice if you talk like this all day.

I rarely talk, I'm more of a silent-bob-type person.

When I wake up, I'm not able to speak for about 5 minutes. It started a few weeks ago, does anyone know why this happens?
