Sound 8/10
For the money man you can't really do much better. The amp has a natural warm sound. It has as 5 band EQ with a "Deep" and "Bright" function. Along with a "Shape" and a "Ultrabass" functions. The Bass band on the EQ boosts/cuts frequencies at approx. 50 Hz. The Low mid is at 140 Hz, the Mids are at 500Hz, the high mids are at 1.6kHz and the trebble is at 7.5kHz. The Deep function boosts frequencies from 30-200Hz and the bright boosts frequencies from 2-20kHz. (I don't know how much it boosts these, for the manual and the sight don't say, I would asume 12-15dB's though) The Ultrabass function is a shotty Octave pedal, which has pretty poor tracking :lol: and the shape function is a like a conture (sp?).

Build Quality 9/10
I've had this for a lil over a year, and so far no problems. I rutienly take it up to 3/4 volume for the sheer pleasure of feeling every thing shake. It's plenty loud there and will hold it's own in most band situations. It's in a thick wood case and weighs quite a bit for it's size... Aside from the cheesy knobs it seems to be built rather well.

Great amp for the money....It's no Highend Ampeg, Mesa, Eden, or what have you, but it does do the trick. For 200$ I don't see how you can beat it unless you find a used Mesa or something :lol: And it does come with a footswitch to switch the shape and Ultrabass functions on/off.

When I had mine I didn't really dig the tone. Another thing that bothered me was that when I had the volume too loud the heat thing (needle thing) would start going crazy... And I was just playing through a single 8 Ohm cab! I returned the thing and got a Rumble 100 instead.

I've got one of these too.
They're satisfying for the low budget artist cause you won't find better for that price. I agree with most of the things whodidtheelf said in the review. I have a behringer bass v-amp with it and I must say they combine very well!

Some setbacks about the amp:
I use the high treble sounds quite often but never turn my bright on, cause then the amp tends to peak quite often. The middle function is too high for me, but that's personal. Furthermore, the Ultrabass function is something I looked forward to but my speaker will blow when I use it. I'm going to buy a behringer stack (BA115+BA210, both 500 watt alu cabs thru 8 ohms.) and normally it should work on those according to alot of shopkeepers.

In all this is indeed a very good amp for the money. If you want to keep it a little longer to gig every week, use a behringer bass v-amp, it's made to go best with the BX3000T.

The heat thing? The needle is a input gain monitor. And volume shouldn't play any part on that...and a single 8ohm cab will only get 1/2 to 2/3 of the heads power, and might make the head clip earlier. Sorry if it seemed like I was ragging on you there I just didn't get what your question was, didn't mean too. :lol:

Yeah I can really agree on the Ultrabass feature. I find it of the utmost uselessness. When ever I'm not playing it makes my speakers puls really quickly and make a funky noise. Also the tracking BLOWS. Anywhoo on the "bright" thing. I useally don't have my trebble up much so I use the bright to make up, different sound to me. But yeah it can get rather brittle when turned up loud enough.

well ive had mine almost a year now, and im completely satisfied. the ultrabass i agree is useless, but i took that pedal an used it on my boss me-50b as an extra function pedal.
