Hey guys, first time postin a tune up on here but I just recorded this one, thought I'd see what other people think and maybe give me some help classifying the sound, people always ask and I don't really know what to tell them. The quality's a lil sketchy and its got some dirty harmonica in it, I like how it sounds. let me know what ya think.

I can't quite seem to figure out how the beat goes. I have an idea, but I'm not sure how it's called. I use to write 4/4 when it's a perfectly normal beat, but this one seems to go like 5/4.

Anyways, the beat rocks, interesting funny sounds, too :thumb:

I don't know what Nantong is talking about it sounds 4/4 as to me. Sounds like your levels need work, it keeps clipping badly in the loud parts, what do you record on bro?

The tune's okay, not memorable but not bad. I like it better as it comes through about the 2:45 mark where the vocals really go well together. The dirty harp is awesome, both parts. I don't really know how to classify your sound, but it sounds like pretty much straight folk to me. Keep on truckin and post more songs dude, and check out this crap (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=348629) if you got the stomach for it.

yeah I know what you mean about the vocals coming together I was kinda goin for a bit of a build-up or somethin like that. haha boy I sure sound like I know what I'm doin. I record on a boss br-864 portable 8track, still figuring it out, I did indeed set the levels too high. I actually didn't really plan on recording that song right then and there but once I was done I figured meh why not. Thanks a lot for the comments dude and I'll definately start postin some more stuff. and I'll be sure to give you some feedback on your stuff once I listen to it.
Take it easy

it's not bad, but there's a little bit of a rhythm problem i think...also, some of the singing is off key. If you fixed that I think it would drastically improve it. Also, the vocalists need to sync up and harmonize a little better.

As far as the recording quality... experiment with mic positions, you're getting some clipping.
