heh, both the guitar and vocals were run through a wah pedal in full treble position, the guitar was line in through a dist pedal becasue my computer made a bunch of background noise when I was trying to mic my amp. The octaves are multitracked because I cut my ring finger open so yeah....a beautiful piece it indeed is.

you might want to start using alternate picking when playing guitar, especially when palm muting, it just sounds "james hetfield" if you constantly use downstrokes.

heh, the drums are all synth with fruity loops, I'm still learning the program so there are some problems with the tracks. The guitar is my beautiful "record it once and forget about it" method and I dropped my pick at the verse. quote on quote "pick", on dammit it was a screwdriver. The lack of bass was a result of me forgetting the hot key to adjust level of tracks. As for the vocals....there is a good reason I don't sing.

Okay hmm... When the song started, I was like "Wow, this is pretty good!" (apart from the guitars being really... hmm... I dunno how to explain). But when you got to the singing, you lost me buddy. As previously mentioned, you sound a little nasal or whatever, work on that. Also, you gotta work on tempo/rhythm or whatever, look at each other, keep the same beat throughout the song. Good luck!

Okay, just because I don't want to start anymore flame wars, let me reiterate.

This is a joke.
Not meant to be taken seriously. And before anyone says anything, I don't care if you didn't think it was very funny, I realize the song in itself isn't funny. It's the fact that I have a 2 page thread full of people that felt the need to tell me how much better they could have played the song and how my singer sucks and my guitar sounds like ****.

Lets go through this:
1) Make a fruity loops drum track
2) download powertab of "I'm not okay"
3) put guitar into distortion pedal and turn guitar tone all the way down, do not go in through amp, go in directly from pedal to mixer.
4)put vocal mic through wah pedal and to mixer, set wah pedal in full treble position
5) bass goes direct in, nothing special about it
6) record, vocals should be sung as much out of your nose as possible. See if you can sing without using your mouth.

Recording notes: any sense of rhythm is frowned upon, good punk should not have rhythm.

There you have it, a beautiful recording of I'm not okay. Are we catching on? Not serious. Now as for dammit, that was an early attempt at the same thing, only problem was that I had to do it all without any computer speakers but instead a pair of earbud headphones on a 4" cord. $2 from a goodwill, hence the lack of EQ "prowess".
