I finally watched this all the way through, and it made almost no sense.
"Are you connected to you?" and whatnot.
Have any of you seen this movie? And do any of you actually UNDERSTAND it? Because I definitely do not...

Someone on here recently talked about this, and how it was representative of current Japanese culture being separated from its history and tradition, clinging to trends as they come, and how that will destroy you/society; suicide becoming a trend in the movie takes a literal death as representation for this.
The movie is definitely strange, and some parts pretty shocking, but the message is good, and even entertaining to watch.

Yeah. It's a good take on how contemporary Japanese culture is losing its tradition of family, honor, and discipline for short lived fads.
Since all of those kids were connected to themselves, meaning that they truly did held high esteem of themselves and loved their fellow man, their deaths did not mean they left. It's because of that, they can get reincarnated, as someone else, as another being. Like, take for instance, the stripping of their tatoo's, there were over 50 chicks. Meaning they were recently born, meaning that someone that was connected to someone else or themselves, recently commited suicide.
Even the inspector was connected to his family. Even though they killed themselves, he realized that he can be with them (connected) once he realizes that his body is merely a vessel for his soul/spirit. Remember, the SUI-CIDE hotline tells them that it doesn't matter if they die, it's as long as they can keep that connection to themself, or someone they truly cared about.
