Help!!!!!!!

I dont know what to do. I am currently a drummer in a screamo band called A Tragic Ending. The problem is i dont like screamo. One of my other friends offered me a place in his band The Warheads which is a punk band which is the music i want to play. I dont know if i should leave my currant band i dont want to let my friends down but i really want to play punk and they definetly are not gonna change. :confused:

Just play in whichever band you want to play in.
The screamo band will go nowhere if you always wanted to play punk.
If it'll make you feel any better about the entire ordeal try and sort them out with another drummer when you leave to make it as painless as possible.

Oh and tell them they fall into my catagory of people who are going to get a slap.
This catagory is for every band with a cliched repetetive name like,

Omega
A Tragic Ending (Come on now, with 3 words how hard is it to be inventive?)
Blindsight
Denial
The Warheads

And in fact, most high school bands with one word names :)

If you want to hear a good band name.

At the end of the day you should enjoy your playing above all else, so play what you love.

If you genuinely do not enjoy playing in A Tragic Ending, then don't. It isn't fair to yourself or your bandmates to keep going in something if you don't feel it, tell them to look for a new drummer, it won't be the end of the world, they'll find a new drummer who enjoys the style, and everyone is better off.

The vocalist breaks a bone every gig, be it his own or someone elses.
They rock. We're supporting them this friday, last time we opened for them he broke the drummers rib in our pit.
