Here's some recordings we've done, tell me what's good, bad or U.G.L.Y. about them. It's pretty much alternative rock but if you're into punk you might dig it too.

be cool hunnybunny - nice laid back rhythm, didnt seem to go anywhere though, quite repetitive
naked librarian - cool song, i was diggin the tempo changes esp. the part after the chorus then when you speed it back up again, wasnt really fond of the vocals right at the end though
shiner - this song was kinda emo, but it was great, probs the most catchy of the 3

i agree with kieranmark about the first song, it all sounded the same, but it was cool until it got old. if you threw a big change or something in there to diversify the sound it would help a lot.
naked librarian- pretty cool, you guys have a wierd unique sound, doesnt fit with my usual taste, but its pretty cool and i can see a lot of people liking it.

sounds pretty tight, the vocals are pretty good, could use a lil volume on them I think though. It sounds like the drums are off at some parts of the first tune but overall its a keeper.
keep it up

^^^He's right, Shiner is a good song. I really like it.
My only advice is maybe some more powerful vocals. Don't get me wrong, the singing sounds great with Shiner, but it doesnt fit the Honeybunny song very well. But yeah, over all id say just put more oompf behind the singing and you guys will sound even better.
Thanks for reviewing my music by the way.

Thanks for all the feedback dudes. I know what you mean about the Be Cool Honeybunny vox being kind of soft, it's probably because our singer was listening to Dinosaur Jr or Brad too much and wanted to get a soft vocal on a hard riff effect. It would preobably be better if we toned down the verse guitars and put more punch in the chorus coz some of you cats are right about it being a bit samey, I think we're going to try to shorten it too, don't know how yet, maybe cut the intro bars off and go straight to vox.
And thanks for the good feedback on Naked Librarian we weren't sure if the tempo changes work for the audience. I mean, they're fun to play but that doesn't always mean fun to listen to so it's sweet to hear if other people dig it from a pure listener's viewpoint.

Review of this band.....
The overall ideas or sounds of the songs "Shiner" and "Screw Loose" arent bad.
The naked librarian isnt very good at all.
The drums seem very similar in all the songs, overall not bad, but needs some work, probably the weak link.
The vocals are about the same not bad but needs work.
The guitar was alright and seemed to be the highlight of the band.
Overall, not bad. You know the quality wasn't great so I dont have to tell you that. My advice, ditch the drummer, and work on the vocals, and you will have a pretty rockin' band.

Thanks for listening bro, always good to get more opinions. I know our drummer comes on kind of one dimensional in Shiner and Screw Loose (it's ironic the song you didn't like had 3 completely different beats) but you know ... he's like a brother so what the ****, we'll just have to wear it .
Don't forget, if you post in our thread and you have your own thread going, put your link down so I can check you out.

Naked Librarian - I don't really like the vocals, their to soft. The drums and bass keep together well, not the most complicated stuff, but it sounds good. The guitar sounds to much like a saxophone, it fits in with everything, but is way to light, the playing is great, it just has way to much of a nuetral sound.
The song is arranged well, not my style of music, but to anyone whose a fan of this type of music, I'm sure they'd like it. Its one of those genres that gets to boring to me.
And I saw no problem with the drummer, I only listened to the first song, but you can't expect him to pull off crazy rhyhtms and solos in a soft song like this one.
At 2:00, the unexpected hard part, its a bit shoddy, the guitar is sloppy and this is one of the parts where the drumming does sound a bit bad. The vocals maintain the same sound as they did through the whole song.
Good work, not my style though. Have your vocalist try out some different styles and use them all, he seems to sing the same way, with some variety added in, the vocals could be improved alot. The guitar has a pretty good sound when its on the soft channel, but when the distortion gets put on its to heavy. The bass and the drummer keep together well, not the most original, but their arranged.

Yeah we don't go too hard with the vocals coz we like girls comin to our gigs. Plus our singer is a kickboxer so his aggression has other outlets and he can be a bit more mellow in the band .
Thanks for the feedback though bro, always appreciated and helpful.

Naked Librarian - Sorry but I didn't like this at all, couldn't listen to it all. Very monotonous guitars and not a great recording, very bassy sounding.
Shiner - This is a lot better, can't really distinguish the vocals much though. Guitars seem to 'fit' a lot better than the last track. I think the guitars should be brought up more in the mix though, give them a little more punch, they should cut through a lot more i think.
Screw Loose - Again, far better than the first one. I still think you would benefit greatly from some better recordings though. How about some solos somewhere, I can't help but hear some great leads as I'm listening here? Nice break where the bass cuts out, works well.
All in all, very short and sweet. Keep it up, make sure to post more.
