the 2005 NBA MVP was the fourth best player throughout the Western Conference Finals---behind Amare, Duncan, and Ginobili.
Yeah, but one five-game playoff series isn't the same as an 82-game regular season.

It's very telling, though.
Imagine David Stern goes up to Gregg Popovich before the WCF and says, "All right, Gregg, before this series you can take one player off of the Phoenix Suns. Who will it be?"
Do you really think he's ever going to say "Nash"?
And out of those four, if you wanted one guy on your team for Game 7, who is it gonna be? Duncan or Amare, am I right?
God I love it...Duncan's performance in this series is so much like Jordan's against Malone in the 1997 NBA Finals..."Who's the MVP NOW, bitch?" While Duncan should not have won the MVP this year (but only because he missed 16 games), he is the best and most valuable player in the league.
Is there really any doubt that we are watching, in Duncan, the greatest power forward in NBA history?
Also, Nash didn't deserve MVP during the 82-game regular season, either.

A player shouldn't be rewarded for the rest of his team not picking up the slack in his absence. Shaq should have won it.

Wade is better than Shaq.

I still think Nash deserved the MVP.
And is there really any point in talking about it anymore? He won it. Its over.

but... but... the phoenix-dallas series.....
Jason Terry was terrified of him and Avery Johnson was too stupid to put Darrell Armstrong in the game

Get over it already. Have you watched the Suns when Nash is off the floor? Completely different team. Amare's value decreases more without Nash than Nash's does without Amare. Without Nash's ability to score and pass the ball, Amare doesn't get as good feeds, and consequently is often left high and dry in the post. However, the Nash and Amare relationship can't really be analyzed by who is *better*, but rather in the sense that both are mutually dependent upon each other, and that both make the other better.
