I've been playing bass for 3 years, but never have I used any form of pedal, I was suggested this by a friend, and decided to purchase it from www.samash.com. It came in today and I immediately rigged it up and plugged it in.

Now, I'll give you a description of what it does, and my opinion on it thus far. Whether or not you think it's good is fine because I'm not so sure myself.

First of all the controls are extremely precise, the tiniest turn of either knob has a slight yet distinguishable effect on the tone. The volume is nice too because it seems to stay in perfect syncronation with the volume of the amp. (if you have the volume on your amp at the 12 o'clock and the volume on the wah at 12 o'clock they'll be pretty in synch). Second of all, the pedal When you push down on it, is like, air, you don't feel it, but you know your pushing it because like the volume knobs if you push it down a little bit you can hear the tone change a little bit, it's like, you control the tone more with your foot and less with the pedal, you don't have to guess on how hard you need to push down or how far, or what you need to do. As much wah you want, as fast as you want it, is determined on how fast and hard you move your foot. No ****in around. It's awesome.

That's my opinion anyway, I can just play something and use it whenever I want and get whatever I want out of it, it's so easy. Sure I have to work on the focus of my foot because of how fricking precise the pedal is, but yeah, It's a sweet deal. I'd recommend it to pretty much anybody.

I've heard the Morley Dual Bass Wah, and it sounds a lot better for the same price, especially the funk setting

I think this pedal is fine. It's the only one I've ever used, so I don't actually know how others compare. I do know that it's hard to hear the effect on low strings if your EQ isn't set right. It does sound nice with distortion though.

I am thinking about buying this pedal. It seems much bassier and fatter than the Morley, which is a nice balance to a bright jazz bass.

It definitely would.

I just got this pedal last week. I haven't tried it live yet, but from what I think so far, the tone/volume controls, automatic by-pass feature, reputation, looks and durability gives it a good 8.5/10.

The Morley wah doesnt have as much of a quality build as the Dunlop does.

Surprised at that - Morley pedals look solid enough to take a nuclear blast.

Funny you should say that, I just tried my friends with a bass two days ago. It doesn't sound bad but it's not really anything to get excited about.

Just picked one up today, way fun to mess around with. Tried it out in the shop and fell in love, five minutes later i was walking out the door with one in my hand. I'll have to work on incorporating it into my band's songs now.

Dont EVER run a guitar wah through a bass. I ran a crybaby through mine playing For Whom the Bell Tolls and blew my tweeter first wah. The sound went real high, then disappeared, showing the tweeter popping. Bass wahs are made specifically for the low frequencies.

Maybe you were running it at too high a volume?

Heaps of bass players use guitar wahs, the morley website even lists most of the wahs as working well with bass as well.
