Nope, I decided to go with a Schecter instead, because I thought it was more versatile. I played around with the DXMG for a long time at the local guitar store, though, and the only reason I didn't buy it is because it's only good for metal. I play Metal, Rock, Alternative, Jazz, and the like, so I needed something that could bridge genres well.

Jacksons are pure excellence if all you're going to playing is metal, though.

The question wasn't directed at me, but here goes.

I'm not a huge fan of 7 strings...they gob up my playing style (although that could be due to the fact that I'm still quite clumsy with a pick in my hands) and you never use the low B unless you're playing music that's dropped that low. Then, you will probably be hopping over strings a lot more when you're in drop B.

My advice (that you don't have to follow if you don't want to): Six string without a floating bridge or locking tremolo system. It's quite easy to downtune any guitar with a string-through bridge.

Dude. Go to guitar center. Play all the guitars. See what you like and don't.

IE, Do you like thin necks? A certain feel of the bridge, fret board feel?

Find what you like on a guitar and then look for something with all those.

Metal wise:
Jacksons & Ibanez are your best bet. Stay away from FR though. That's all I have to say.

EDIT: Go for 6 string. 7 string aren't very useless in MOST cases.

Plus it's much easier to change tunings.

5 seconds a string WITHOUT

2 + minutes each string with FR

Fixed bridge meaning?

It's strings through the body.

FR does keep your guitar in tune. Not very long though. It takes forever to put into tune change tunings etc etc

In my experience, FR falls out of tune much easier than string-through. I could've been dealing with a few rotten apples, but either way, I much prefer my string-through Schecter. It's also much, much easier to change strings than FR, which is something even a seasoned FR user cannot deny, Shadows.

My FR never falls out of tune. Like Mitch said, it only takes him a couple minutes to tune. It's the same with me. I'm used to dealing with an FR so I can do it pretty quickly now. Changing strings takes me no longer than a string-through guitar.

Correct. It doesn't. I don't need/want that though.

I have to disagree on the FR. It takes far longer to un screw, push string in, lock up with allan wrench, tie and tighten at top.

You got any awesome kick and snare samples??

I have some crashes that cam with Beatcraft but they're in weird formats.

Isn't Janne's last name Wirman, but he changed it to "war"man?

The Beatcraft kick isn't too bad if you mess with it (compression, eq's etc)
I have some decent snares from Drumkit From Hell but they are at my mom's house. If you email me or add me on Msn messenger or something I can send them to you whenever I go over there next.
I also have some kicks from DKFH but most of them weren't that great imo. The decent ones are really quiet but once again that can be fixed with Beatcraft.

Nice.

I watched this video. These idiot discovery channel dudes. They were standing in shallow water with the under water camera and all. I should mention, large Bull Sharks swimming right around their legs. These idiots were trying to get bite.

Anyway, one of them got his wish. Man..... When they were hulling him outta the water. haha. That wasn't a pretty image. The skin hanging off his leg where the chunk had be taken off his leg.

Yeah. I know they aren't as scary like made out to be. I've swam with Leperd Sharks before, which are small and basically harmless to anyone larger than a toddler.

I don't like the idea of swimming with Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, Blue Sharks or Great Whites.

I remember when I lived in Sonoma County, California. There was this beach,
"Goat Rock". It was where the ocean & russian River met. The seals were gathered on the river side of the beach. (two beachs basically. paralell).

It attracted Great Whites because they'd feed on the seals. There were a couple White attacks over the years, on surfers.

Sharks are tight though.

Here's the thing we started out friends
It was cool but it was all pretend
Yeah yeah
Since U Been Gone

You dedicated you took the time
Wasn't long till I called you mine
Yeah Yeah
Since U Been Gone

And all you'd ever hear me say
Is how I pictured me with you
That's all you'd ever hear me say

But Since U Been Gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get
What I want
Since U Been Gone

How can I put it? You put me on
I even fell for that stupid love song
Yeah, yeah
Since U Been Gone

How come I'd never hear you say
I just wanna be with you
I guess you never felt that way

But Since U Been Gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get (I get) what I want
Since U Been Gone

You had your chance you blew it
Out of sight, out of mind
Shut your mouth I just can't take it
Again and again and again and again

Since U Been Gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get, I get what I want
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on
Yeah, yeah
Thanks to you (thanks to you)
Now I get (I get)
You should know (you should know)
That I get, I get what I want
Since U Been Gone
Since U Been Gone
Since U Been Gone

Tool fans are idiots. The folks who got a few to many swirlies in high school and loved mother too much.
They are worse than Metallica by leagues.

I disagree on the music. I think Tool is boring & bland. Maynards vocals are annoying & childish. His lyrics reek of immaturity & "thinking deep" which also translates to, "I don't know what I'm on about now".

Fanboys horribly overrate Tool as well, but they're one of the best bands on the radio today. The time signatures they use are unbelievably complex, and the parts they write stand out, yet blend together. You can hear all the instruments, and the harmonies and rhythms they use are complicated.

Just because you don't care about them doesn't mean everyone else doesn't. Sure, Bodom makes great music, but I have to agree circlethedrain on the fact that Alexi's lyrics are awful. Sometimes I've gone and listened to Kalmah simply because I wanted to hear something intelligent from the mouth of the speaker.

However, on Hatebreeder and Something Wild I didn't think the lyrics were that bad at all.
