I found this clip from Bodom playing at Wacken, among other artists...Sixpounder. Tis quite good, though they don't do the whole song (none of the bands do), and Alexi is mixed ridiculously low.
Outside stage right? Other bands like Death Angel, Ektomorph, Cannibal Corpse and Motorhead.
I can still hear the solos in it but yeah it isn't the best of mixing.
I've also got a clip of them playing Hate Me from Wacken 2002, but it's a fan camera I think but the quality is good, so I don't know where it comes from.

I've been slacking off the last 2 or 3 days with praceticing. I have to finish learning the Nile song, so I can perfect it.

i got it pretty solid at 125 bpm right now. I kinda put it off, and come back to it ya know. I havent broken the 125 bpm marker with this intro yet. Its the friggin skip to the 20th fret. Im not 100% at it yet.

The Downfall solo is hard to nail. I know there's going to be someone saying I can play it, well no.
There's a section in Hatebreeder with sweeps that's hard.
Warheart solo
Hate Me solo, album version is a bit ghey to play.
Children of Decadence
Kissing the Shadows
Hate Crew Deatholl solo is pretty tricky, as is Living Dead Beat.
We're Not Gonna Fall.
I'd say the hardest riffs are on HCDR. Needled intro riff, Bodom Beach Terror verse and interlude, Triple Corpse hammerblow lead riff, You're Better Off Dead intro all have fast stuff. The solos's for them are hard too.

I have passage to the reaper
+ A TV rip of a concert in Nosturi on the AYDY tour.
They AYDY one is hella sloppy. A couple of the riffs are hard to watch.
I think for learning some Bodom, I'll either learn the parts I don't know of Bodom Beach Terror or Triple Corpse Hammerblow. I played through TCHB and didn't have any trouble, so I might start that once I'm done learning Lashed To The Slave Stick.
I've finally kicked my arse into gear and learning the whole song instead of half of songs, then learning 5 more half songs.

Sixpounder is rather easy, the solos are hard though. Needled 24/7 is pretty easy in most parts. The intro solo/leads are rather easy. Bodom Beach Terror is mostly easy.

Hatebreed is pathetic. The guitars put me to sleep and that annoying little twat for a singer... Jamie Jasta needs to get his arse kicked. He's like a 20 (?) year old body with a 13 year old mind.

Why? You want thicker for CGC and lighter for GBE?
I was never against the tuning, I just didn't see it working. Where did you come up with the idea to play in that tuning?
Invicta_Veritas
03-16-2006, 02:40 AM
Well, in combination with the fact that I've naturally got higher tension on the top end and lower on the bottom, I also play a lot of pinch harmonics. I've found a couple brands of strings (GHS tnt's, Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom's) that hold tuning and last longer than others. But yea, that's most of it.
I really honestly dont remember. I think when I was first experimenting with full drop c, I got lazy and didn't want to downtune the rest one day, and it just created a whole new range of chords and stuff, so I kept it. Started writing songs in it, and haven't wanted to go back ever since.

I don't mean to sound like a ****ing idiot, but what's a Baritone Guitar?
A baritone guitar is a guitar built specifically for downtuning. The scale of the guitar is longer, thereby allowing it to have heavier strings while maintaining string tension. It's a glorified bass guitar in my opinion.
Anyway, why would I buy a baritone guitar and still have to dowtune anyway? The strings i would have to put on it would be too heavy for some of the things I use it for anyway.........I would have to put lighter strings on it and screw with keeping it in tune, readjust the action, etc..........it would just defeat the purpose of buying a guitar to supposedly solve some issue.......I would rather do it the way I do it now-Have a normal guitar, adjust the action, put specific strings on it, tune it the way I want it, and be set. It's the same thing.

Meh. I don't specifically have an issue with them, i was just being a smartass. But i don't really see the point to them, and I have no particular use for them.......and I do know a lot of untalented(*cough* demonhunter *cough*) bands that use them to make things sound heavy when they should just play better riffs. It's just like 7-string guitars......there's no point: either your bassist is crappy and you're compensating for it or you have nothing better to do than add a string and play simpler riffs.
Note: I like demonhunter and many bands that use these guitars, they just aren't the most talented bunch.

It sounds like they are just trying to appeal to the stupid kiddies who watch Fuse and MTV. I don't think the music on AYDY sold out, but catering to kidiots like this...and starting to make music videos is getting there or at least very very very close to selling out.

They take concepts like religion and destruction and make them totally unlike real life. You're thinking of this too literally. I don't think you make sacrifices and kill christians everyday, while you may pray or demote religion. Political metal bands also take things out of that everyday life context by putting you right into the middle of the political crossfire. The melodic death about relationships is something I do agree isn't very metal but they seem to work it in a way most of the time that it is very emotional and make you see from their eyes.

Arsis - Seven Whispers Fell Silent
Seven whispers silent
On scathing winds the seven whistlers tune
Seven cries, blinded eyes
Bade the choke on the night
Beneath the stare of a cold and blood-dimmed moon
Alaster, avenging one
Guide my path
Live in me, exist to be
The festering wounds upon the savior's wrists
Calculating the murderous plot for the dozen to fall
If that is not metal then I don't know what is.

EDIT: Arsis - The Sadistic Motives Behind Bereavement Letters
I'm so sorry to hear of your bitter loss
I know my words can only offer but so much comfort for you
Just know that I am here to ease your lonely feelings
To fill this time of grieving and remind you it's your fault
It's your fault for not caring
It's your fault for not knowing that he'd try again
And again, these words can only offer
But so much comfort for you
Seems pretty damn real to me.

Conflict, terror, hear the noise
You're in the edge of a nerve-racking force
Oh my god, here's a fight
Never siege, never riot, must defy
When you look at me, what do you see
Another trophy like a ****in dead beat
Close your eyes, take a step inside
Guess what I took your life/step back uncover your eyes
Insanity and normality (is/its) not What you call reality
What you will, always want
It was the day that you should die
I dont give a flying **** mother****er
I dont give a flying **** mother****er
I dont give a flying
I dont give a flying
I dont give a flying ****!
'll never wait for the pain of death
With a bullet in my gun dont **** over my ****
Can you hold my crazy as I go
So **** hypocrisy and **** you too
This is the difference between bands liek Arsis who may talk about real life concepts and Bodom. The Arsis lyrics were very metal and many people will tell you those Bodom lyrics are certainly not even close.
The whole album isn't like that though I wouldn't go as far as saying that
The slaying at Bodom from so long ago
Still carry a secret, of which nobody knows
A seed that was planted as the night turned to dawn
Will now bring me to life as the reaper's spawn
I'm a bastards of Bodom and I walk alon
As I follow the reaper, to lead me back home
My victims shall perish on the shores of this lake
As they look upon me, to stare death in the face
I don't need a reason, and I won't tell you why
I'll just take you to hell by the edge of my scythe!
I was born to end life, I can take any form
A shapeshifting demon, killing for sport
Like father, like son, this is my fate
Taking your lives and breeding the hate!
I don't need a reason, and I won't tell you why
I'll just take you to hell by the edge of my scythe!
Now that is certainly very metal.
