I don't have one, nor have I been on it more than 5 times.

Myspace is completely against my moral values. It's part of the reason why people are so screwed up these days.
I don't see your logic, it's just a little page about yourself lol.

1. Stalkers
2. Those who spend all day on it, and care immensely about what others think about them.

Myspace is a breeding ground for both of them. It must be stopped.

Plus, I hate everyone who uses it regularly.

I like having a place to find quick info and sound on a band, and quick info and pictures for a person. If someone is talking about someone and I'm like who's that they'll give me a myspace, it's like a business card of sorts.

The reason I hate is because of fat girls who post pictures where they look like a completely different person...

I've been working off of a Crate GT3500 for about a year. It's not bad actually. For a solid state, it's surprisingly good, and gets a hell of a lot of volume. Unfortunately, once the volume is turned up where it would be for a gig, the hum and feedback gets pretty overwhelming. I'm hoping for a better rhythm distortion too. Luckily I'll get some good money back by trading it in.

Lucky you're getting an amp. I left my amp at my friend's today. We had an awesome jam session that included more watching tv than actual practice.

Yea I know...I just don't have a good way to make money during winter. My dad
gave me our old lawn customers...but It's not leaf time right now and it's not mowing timne either. During the summer I'll be making about 200 a week off lawns and then I'll also be pressure washing..it take about 6 hours to do a whole
side walk and drive way. But you get 150 a hour!

tickets were 75 bucks a pop...and I didn't want to go alone. Plus I've almost got all the money to buy the amp by myself. So My parents will cover taxes and then probably buy me the 279$ foot controller.

Lord I was born a ramblin man...

Shadows fallen: you should look into these Valvetronix amps. They are very verstitle they sound nice and warm and they don't get all cruddy sounding when you turn them up.

Yea they suck! he turns it up....and it hurts my ears. He's a good player. But that amp is just not gonna last. I might pick a 15 watt version of it sometime (just for practing and playing around at night....but I don't think it's likly.

L6 has a good idea with the spider. Now they need to back it up with a good product. And I think that's what VOX is doing. The reason I don't want a marshall is cause everyone in the world has a marshall. and the people that don't have spiders. This amp is really gonna set me apart form the other guitarist I play with. I just can't wait.

Definitely play it before you buy it. I played one at a music store one time, and I really didn't like any of the tones I was getting. The clerk there told me you had to turn it up past 5 to get more gain.. I'd rather have enough gain without having to distort the power amp. Check out Peaveys, the 5150 is supposed to be an amazing amp.

I use 2, occasionally 3 or 4 different amps. I got connections. :p

Gig amp (If I PLAYED gigs...it's my out amp): Evans custom 200 watt. Lightest one I have.

House amp: Mesa Boogie (no idea what model, but it's an old one)

If I play with my brother (he uses the Boogie), Peavey Classic 50. Sweet tones.

Finally (even though I haven't used this one in a while, due to it having a few problems), I'd occasionally use a Musicman 110 RD 50 watt amp.

All I love the hell out of. You won't find better amps anywhere else.

Yes many many times. My lead guitarist has the 75 watt version my other guitar buddy has the thirty and this girl I know has the 50. I've played them all and if you want to do anything other then practice with it it's gonna suck. You turn it up and lose all tone. It's just not a very good amp.

I'm interested in the Mode Four as well, since it's built specifically for metal. Matt Bachand from Shadows Fall used to play through one and I love his tone. My only concern is that since it's not a tube amp it may not have that crystal clear sound. I'll play one though.

Depends, Gibsons through Marshalls sound very good, but the only truely metal amp that Marshall makes (Im talking about stacks btw) is the MF350. Esp's, Jackson's etc. sound better through Peavy's and Laney's IMO.

And they're heavy as **** so playing live with them sucks.

Britton

I can't see me paying for a Gibson anytime soon. Why would I pay 2000 dollers when I can get a Epiphone that would serve the same purpose for not even half the money.

I wish my dad played a instrument...then I'd get access to awsome equipment.

Shattered_Future
01-29-2006, 12:25 PM
Man, Gibson and Epiphone are like Fenders and Squiers...made by the same company, yet no comparisn in quality.

I personally like Heritage guitars. Made by former Gibson employees, in Gibson factories, yet it's a smaller company, which means more attention to detail, and it's cheaper to boot.

Plus, when you get a Gibson esque guitar, you can use it for a variety of purposes.

Without all her makeup christina scabbia looks like ****.

Tarja doesn't look perfect but shes definatly good looking.

Whoa! Mega post!!

I know many people don't like Children Of Bodom's lyrics, but if you had to pick, what is everyone's favorite COB quotes? Mine has to be: "It's a hell for heroes and a heaven for fools. What makes you the luckiest bastard on Earth?"

Anything from Bed of Razors, and

"live for the moment, make it laaaast!" from Living Dead Beat.

How is Alexi's hair ALWAYS perfectly straight?

Because he was made that way....that way meaning perfect.

It's in conversations like this that I'm glad my hair is black.

Your hair is nice.
My hair is dark brown and a bit past my lower back. It's wavy, but I straighten it and it looks better like that.

Has anyone got any pictures of Alexi with short hair?

That's just....wrong.
Alexi + long hair = mmmm.....

I don't see what so bad about the lyrics, I like them.

I think they're funny, and it was a slammin' good time singing along with it at the show. :thumb:

No-one likes In Your Face? That seems to be the only one I really like off the new album, and none of you guys are talking about.

I love In Your Face. I loved it from the first time I heard it.

Mos def. But then again, Alexi is very hot.

Oy vay, I love you. *chuckles*

I thought Damageplan was horrible, just numetal garbage.

I didn't like them either.

Along with a cup of green tea and a hot shower, I wake up in the morning with the assistance of Behemoth.
.

:thumb: \m/

Living Dead Beat is one of those songs that just gets me so extremely pumped I don't know what to do with myself.

I love it. It's just so bobdamn catchy...

Check out the sites for venues near you, maybe they'll come back to Florida. It doesn't list it on the Bodom site yet, they've only got dates up to February.

I don't think they're coming back. :upset:

Jay - you're from FL?

Thast a pretty funny story Britton

I hate how around here all the emo/metalcore posers who listen to My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold (if Arucard is reading this I mean nothing against them I mean something against some of the people who listen) and Atreyu try and talk to me because I have CoB shirts. CoB has managed to get themselves lumped into this category with their new album, although it's mostly just from In Your Face, a very very very American sounding song, and the fact that they toured with Trivium. The rest aren't that american sounding but I'm sure all these posers haven't heard anything else off the new album, and if they heard Hatebreeder they'd be like wtf is Mozart doing in here. All these kids want to try and convert me into "one of them" and I want nothing to do with it. They haven't the slightest clue what real metal is.

I haven't heard the actual song yet, I was just looking at the lyrics on metal-archives.com and thought, "wait a minute..."

"Norther
Deep inside you got nothing left
You're just a fallen star
Betrayed by a dream in vain
Before you're dead you must be
Released by the victorious one
Take your last breath and cry before I unleash hell
We have the cure for our endless war
And it's the last night before the darkness and light
Blackhearted midnight walker is going nowhere
Beneath the stars he wonders... is he hollow?

Nightfall
The darkest time arriving
Look into the mirror of madness
Drown in the chasm of sadness
Day zero never comes
Thorn in my spine awaiting salvation
For the day of Redemption

Death unlimited is coming your way
you got nothing to say
Hellhole is gonna tear you apart
Don't you know that everything is an end
or maybe not
'cause you don't know sh*t"

It is funny, usually because it seems as though sometimes they try to force the title in the song lyrics, rather than writing lyrics and realizing one of your song titles fit perfectly into a certain spot. Norther just takes this to the extreme. :p

It is christina scabbia.

I looked at a couple other pix of her. non nudes.

I noticed those pix that are clearly her.. she had a couple of distint "brownish mole like w/e" on her chest.
The person in the nude (her obviously) has the same mole like w/e.

I also noticed.
In all her pix where you can see part of her shoulders/chest/arms/hands

Her veins stick up/out alot.

Exact same way the chick in the nude has.

Someone else looking that close and just "happening" to have those skin and body features(moles + blood veins sticking up alot) is prolly 1 in a million.

I determined it's her. I got a couple second opinions with pic comparing and all agree it's her. :naughty:

I prefer 3rds myself, like Bodom and most metal bands do.
6ths are cool when used right i.e Paganini.
6ths=Inverted thirds so usually you'll end up playing a thirds harmony an octave lower or higher and it will seem as if you are harmonizing sixths but you are really harmonizing inverted thirds diads.

(Hope thats not confusing)

I know but 6ths are still valid harmony otherwise they wouldn't be called 6th's and you wouldnt get 6 chords. They also have a different sound, and since it's less used in "root" position, they sound fresher to my ears.

I'm just saying that there is no difference between 3rd harmony and 6th harmony besides the octave which the harmony is being played on. The notes are the same.

Nah, both of those were Maj3rd harmonies.

We mean.

G--------------
D-4-----------
A-5-----5-----
E--------2----

First is D,F# = Dmaj diad(no 5th).
Second is the same 2 notes but the other way round, so F#, D, which is also known as F#min6.

What tuning does Necrophagist play in?

How hard are their riffs?

Toaster

Necrophagist play in standard tuning, down a whole step. A lot of their riffs are tough to play, but once you get your head around some of the patterns it's not complicated stuff. The main problem for me is the stretches; I have small hands.

I can stretch maybe 3 frets on cords comtorably..

5
2

On single notes, maybe 5...

I can do that position shift in Sixpounder from the fith fret to the tenth pretty damn and crisp.

Britton

MRDuCran

Being able to stretch far doesn't mean sh!t anyway, it's what you can do with it that matters. If you can play string skipped, augmented arpeggios as fast and clean as Shawn Lane could, then you can boast.

agreed 100%

Toaster
02-01-2006, 10:38 AM
Being able to stretch far makes a difference, let's not pretend otherwise. From a technical standpoint, players with longer fingers can play things that players with smaller fingers could never play. I never said that having long fingers makes you a great guitar player, it certainly doesn't. It does enable you to play patterns that involve long stretches more easily.

Kurrpt
02-01-2006, 10:40 AM
you could just transcribe long stretches to a different part of the guitar

Toaster
02-01-2006, 10:55 AM
----------------------- If someone had trouble making this stretch..
4--7--4--8--4--7--4--8
repeat

---------3-----------3 They'd have to move it here, which would be
4--7--4-----4--7--4-- impossible to play at high speeds.
repeat

And what about chords? You can't play a chord on another part of the guitar without changing at least one note.

Britton
