DXMG is a nice guitar, I've got the KE3. Only one of those songs you listed from Norther is from Mirror of Madness, and it's pretty much known as the best album. Blackhearted is one of my favorite songs off the album, they all have melodic piano like that. Maybe I'll put the album on a zip and upload it to you so you don't have to buy it.

That's alright; I want to buy it. As I told someone in some above post, I'm not for downloading entire albums. I think these metal bands work way too hard to get these albums out. Individual songs are ok, though, I'll take em! :thumb:

Same here. No steady job. I have jobs everyonce a while...like babysitting or cleaning my car. But those are everyonce and a while. I really need to save up for a new guitar though. I was going to buy the Stratovarius and Kalmah cds and THEN save for the guitar, but nope. This fender is driving me crazy.

Once again, JS series sucks. I got a used KE-3 for freaking $225 off ebay, it was in practically new condition, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. That's like $75 less than a JS and a lot better.

$1300 used. Its a really beautiful guitar...great for a bunch of different styles...rock, metal, jazz.

yeah i got an ibanez GRX40 (first guitar) and it wasa nice guitar recomended for any begginers.

I don't think Children of Bodom sold out at all. I just think they changed a little bit; it couldn't be helped. I love Hate Crew Deathroll. I think it's just different than the other albums.

What dissapoints me is that metal radio stations like MusicChoice on cable or satellite tv, and satellite radio like Sirius (I have both of these) don't play any non-american or british metal. When listening to either one the only non-american metal is nwobhm, or Rammstein. Never do you see the awesome scandinavian bands on Sirius or anything. I should complain because Finland and Sweden make some of the best music out there, and it kicks our american stuffs booty.

I don't know. IMO, I'm glad that Bodom aren't on the radio. Maybe it's just in my area, but anytime something new shows up that seems the slightest bit cool, it's turned into a trend. I don't feel like walking around and seeing everyone (including that seven year old girl in the bondage pants) wearing a Children of Bodom shirt.
I'm a Metallica fan too; though only of their older stuff. Personally I think they went a little downhill after the Black album. But thats for discussion in the Metallica thread. :)

Classic example: Cradle Of Filth. People say they "sold out"...only because they now sell records and actually have fans. Sure, there's been a change in their music...it doesn't make it any more mainstream.

People need to take music for what it is, and not how many fans or how underground your band is.

Not bad. If you don't mind me saying, it sounds like the guitars weren't on the same timing. Sometimes the leads would be faster than the rhythm. Pretty cool, though.

I think that requires sweep picking, which i find extremely hard...

I'm debating whether to learn FTR or Chokehold. I'm not very good, so either one will be a challenge for me.

Go with Chokehold. It's really fun to play. I know bits and pieces of it and I'm currently working on it with the Young Guitar Alexi Laiho book that I have.

The lyrics and songs are meant to be cheesy sounding though. That's what Bodom aims for. It is all heavily power metal influenced.

I guess it's so people focus more on the instrumental part of it, too. Bodom isn't really known for their lyrics, but for the awesome instrumental stuff and "shredding guitar". Though singing along is fun. :D Especially when you're pissed off.

It depends how you look at it. Power metal always has those type of lyrics.

:lol: True. I never get Bodom lyrics off the internet either; they are so ****ed up and wrong. I love singing along to Children of Decadence, Hate Crew Deathroll and Needled 27/4. ("**** yeah, that's me vile and obscene!")

What albums do you have? If you have none, I would start like most of the HateCrew did; with Follow the Reaper. Then I would get Hatebreeder. It's the last Bodom album that I bought, but I think it should be 2nd. I had like this:

Follow the Reaper
Trashed, Lost and Strungout
Something Wild
Hate Crew Deathroll
Hatebreeder
