Ah cool. I was just wondering to see if there was anyone that could play Bodom stuff on drums.

The main problem for me would be the double kicks, I can do about 160 but not for that long, I seriously doubt I could hit 190 like Downfall, Warheart etc.

My concert story for those interested:

So I show up to a local Zia which doesn't sell tickets, but I figured I'd check anyway, I had a few hours to kill, so what the hell.. right? When I pull in, I notice a huge line outside. I figured "ah cool, I guess they are selling tickets!" so I get in the back of the line. I then realized that I didn't know if the line was even for tickets or not, so I asked the guy in front of me. He's like "Dude, Bodom is here. We're all waiting to meet Bodom." After my giant erection went away, I went into my car and grabbed Are You Dead Yet?.

2 hours later, I'm standing a few feet away from their table. Man, I didn't think I'd get nervous but I did. I walked up to the drummer (excuse me for not knowing names) and was like "H-H-Hey man, you rock." and he's like "Thanks man, I appreciate that". He could tell I was nervous. To the bass player: "Hey man, welcome to Arizona." "Thank you! How are you?" "I'm good, how are you?" "I'm good man, a little hungover but good!". Alexi: Alexi wasn't in the greatest mood and I don't think he smiled much the entire time, but oh well. I said Whats up, he kind of nodded his head and said hey, that was it. The keyboard/guitarist were pretty cool as well, big smiles on the guitarist. He looked really pleased that we came to meet them. Anyway, off to the show.

Amon Amarth was pretty sick. I was never really into those type of real deep and powerful vocals, but they put on an excellent show. I really enjoyed them. "Death in Fire" was so awesome.

We waited for Trivium. Beforehand, I had the attitude of "Ehh, Trivium kind of blows but oh well." Jesus Christ was I wrong. I really, really, really, really liked Trivium. Matt was talking to the crowd a LOT which is something I really liked. When "The End of Everything" came on, I knew they were going to be good. I saw Matt on the side of the stage stretching and strapping on his guitar and stuff, it was pretty cool. They came out and tore into Rain. In between songs, he was talking to this kid who was wearing a mask and flipping them off or whatever about why he was too metal for them and how ugly he was. It was hilarious. At one point, Matt tells the entire crowd to quiet down. He tells the kid he has 10 seconds to explain why he's too metal for Trivium. When his time ran out, Matt says "Sorry, the correct answer would have been 'What is Manowar'" HAHA! He also encouraged huge moshpits and whirlwind circles. He said that our show (Phoenix, AZ) had the best whirlwinds and we were actually the best crowd on the tour yet. He probably said that to everyone, but oh well. To anyone else that saw them, did he say that to you too? Just curious. He also said that they were going to try something new and that they had never played this before and then tore into "A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation" which was wierd. I thought they played that everywhere, but I guess not. All solos were very clean. They were very, very good live. Deff. a live band!

As Bodom hooked in and stuff, their intro song was some 80's retro thing, I don't remember which song though. During their set, Alexi would feed everyone beer while they were soloing or whatever. He's pretty violent on stage, which was cool to watch. He was extremely clean and smiled a lot more than he did at Zia. He looked like he was having fun. At one point, someone threw a big stuffed frog on stage and he goes "It looks like our friend here needs a drink, what do you think?" Needless to say, the crowd went crazy so he gave the frog some beer. His solo/keyboard solo was awesome. Drum solo was good, but nothing compared to Arch Enemy's. Overall, they put on a great show. But I dunno man, Trivium was exceptionally awesome.

That's all. It was an awesome night. Buy your tickets. You won't be dissapointed.

It was a great show, but Trivium's live act did nothing for me. Matt Heafy's determination for the crowd to beat each other only caused me to lose further respect for them.

Other then that, the other two bands were amazing.

can you remember how i said, i will get the possibility to get backstage, cause i know a guy who is a "friend" of CoB?

well i just met him :D

he plays since ten years guitar and it was amazing to see how a good player plays like... it was great :D he even made one of Cobs first homepages. He was backstage several times and played on alexi laihos famous jackson "wildchild" guitar :D he travelled even to finnland and they planned to go to lake bodom, but they never did. (and so on...)

well the only thing is that he doesn't have active contact with the band anymore.. he hasn't seen them for a long time - he plans to phone them ... but he said that he won't go backstage this time... well i hoped so much he would :(
but well, the hope dies at least ....

its still time left until the concert will take place

Choke Hold
Silent Night, Bodom Night
Bodom After Midnight
Six Pounder
Angels Don't Kill
Are You Dead Yet?
Needled 24-7
Deadnight Warrior
Follow The Reaper
Bodom Beach Terror
In Your Face
Everytime I Die
Hate Crew Deathroll
Downfall

I was disappointed at the lack of Lake Bodom, Children Of Decadence and Bed Of Razors, otherwise it was great. Apparently the show the follwing night got Lake Bodom instead of Deadnight Warrior :(

Calm song:

fast, aggressive:
March of the Pigs
Wish (won even an award:best in metal-category - MTV)
Burn (great song... Natural Born Killers soundtrack)

He could use those 5 dollars. CoB is not a big band. They only seem that way because metal doesn't usually attract crowds like they do.

IheartSP
12-05-2005, 04:03 PM
I think the band makes like 3 dollars a cd, which is about $.60 dollars a cd for each member. If lets say 10,000 albums are stolen each year each member loses $6000 a year. I'd guess from just albums alone each member makes about 50,000 a year, plus there are concert tickets, for Alexi signature gutiars, a million interviews, he probably pulls in about $100,000 a year, the other members probably not so much.

All those numbers came either out my *** or the computer calculator btw.

MRDuCran

I'd like to hear how they are considered big. Typical mainstream bands and artists sell millions and millions of records, and that's expected. CoB has never sold more than a few hundred thousand. That few hunred thousand may be a lot for the metal world, but in the general music scene that's pathetic.

If you consider that "big" then you're a little out of perspective.

Sony BMG put spyware rootkits into some CDs recently.

When a person put the Cd into their computer to put into iTunes,

the moment it was read by the computer, unless you have auto-run off. It installed a root kit/spyware type of thing.

Even if you clicked out of the thing.

It tracked what people did online, loging everything.
It made peoples computers highly volnerable to attacks from hackers, due the fact that it disabled/weaked firewalls. I assume it opened ports.

Keep in mind this was placed in CDs like, Elton Johns holiday hits...

Sony is getting sued by,
State of Texas for breaking their anti spyware law.
Some comsumor group for invasion of privacy.

Most likely my state of Oregon is working on a lawsuit against Sony BMG.

It makes you wonder what other record labels are doing though....

AIM is roguewarheart is you have the time.

Is that album as good as Buried in Oblivion? I've only heard the song "dead or dreaming" off it.

I got plenty stuff to pick from for something in return...

I think Buried In Oblivion edges it out a little bit more...

Moses, no, they aren't like Shadows Fall. They sound a bit like them in certain places though...like the first riff in the first track from Dead Or Dreaming. Only sound like them on that album though, BIO sounds completely original and awesome.

Best Bodom cover is undoubtedly Hellion. Funniest is probably She Is Beautiful, simply because Alexi nails Andrew's voice perfectly. :amaze:

I really don't like any COB covers. Alexi's voice isn't too well-suited for any other style of music. I'd agree that Hellion is the best, but it's still pretty bad (except for the solo).

Hey guys I was so inspored the other night when Janne had his keyboard solo...so I went online looking for some clips of him doing his stuff. And I can't find any at all. I tried tons of different stuff. so I was wondering if one of you could hook me up

It shows up as all track by children of bodom when I put it into iTunes. iTunes picked up on everything else like that.
I don't know. I don't care, I like the song whoever it's by.
Since I guess that wasn't CoB covering something.
I'll go with, Bed of Nails. I believe that was originally by Alice cooper right?

I'm seeing them at the astoria soon and I'd love to meet them but I don't even know how to go about it. I know they'll be backstage or whatever but surely they're not just going to let anyone there.

Plus, last Thursday when I saw LoG there, we had to leave early too (like you PsychoticFlubber) because of trains and crap. We waited outside their tourbus for about 5 mins but yeah we had to go, didn't even have to time to get any merch.

My friend was like, oh we can't go back and get you a t-shirt but we can go stand inside McDonalds for 10 mins.
