a friend told me that the festival is in the north of germany... hm... more than 12h with the car.... with the train maybe even more than 15h?!
but i don't know exactly where waken is....
doesn't train usually go faster than car? well I will go by bus. Sweden Rock Bus :). I really hope you know what Sweden Rock Festival is :) and there is also Sweden Rock Magazine. And they organize bus trips to fore example wacken. Last year they brought 777 metal fans from Sweden to Wacken :P.

wow, thats amazing... can you tell me about some good metal-festivals in sweden? i plan to travel to sweden next summer (when i will have the money) and to connect this with a metal-festival would be great :thumb: - any recommondations?!
train, not really -> by car you drive through the highways (which is faster than by train) and secondly you have to change the train several times and that means: waiting for the next train. no, i think you're faster with the car.
but Metalcamp is some 1-2hours away from vienna and the line-up from last summer was amazing: Metal Camp (http://www.metalcamp.com/index2.htm)

Some of her music is very well composed. Her vocal melodies are great too, much better than most solos any guitarist can play. I use her music for inspiration for chord progressions in my own compositions.

Sweden Rock Festival is easily the best metal festival in sweden. But then there's also Gates of Metal, Metaltown for example. but there's one thing which is über gay about Sweden Rock. it starts at thursday the same week as school's out. So then I have to take about two days off from school, the two last days which includes lotsa geetar playing on concerts. scheisse

I think the new stuff is catchier than their old, and therefore easier to listen to. They still have those great melodic moments and insane solos with too much keyboard (if there is a such thing as "too much keyboard"). It's heavier and more riff-based, but they managed to do something new without really dumbing down. I love it it. I really don't see why many hate it so much.

Is that really it? That seems like such a small, subtle detail. I find it hard to belive that an entire album would bore you because of the note many of the songs start on. Most of them were part of a larger riff anyway, and the drums and keys made each one completely different.

Its not the fact that they all start around the same note, its the fact that all the songs are structured the same. All based in C, and they all sorta follow the same pattern.
I LOVE using CGCFAD (quite fun to bang out riffs with), but you have to switch it up a bit sometimes.

Well, its not always bad to get more chugga-chugga. If COB kept writing epic, keyboard driven riffs they would get old and boring, much moreso than their new chugga riffs are.

He hits pitches that he can easily miss and it'll sound bad (he's done it before). He just calls it screaming. How would it be screaming if you can do it at any volume? You can match heavy screaming to a piano too though, same with growls.

If your just screaming at the top of your lungs I wouldn't think you'd be able to control it.

To my knowledge, "screaming" in music is basically done by singing notes but putting some rasp into your voice so it sounds harsh like a scream.
I think a good example is James Hetfield (not really screams, but you get what I mean), or even Alexi in the She Is Beautiful cover. It's just when people want harsher screams, they put more rasp and do falsetto etc...You still have to hold a note to be able to control it.

I can't scream high for crap...however, my voice is a lot lower than most peoples.
I do death growls instead. :D
I CAN sing, if I really tried, but not while playing an instrument. Tis physically impossible for me, unless it's a 4 chord progression ala Greenday styled (which I never do. :thumb: )
Alexi's gonna kill his voice eventually...

Did you do vox for the September contest? I want to hear those!!! Are they still available somewhere?

I can't scream or growl for ****, which means I'll never be a metal vocalist. :( I'm not that bad of a singer though, so that's a plus. Maybe I'll do backing vox one day.

Oh my God. I'm so afraid of you. The quality is poor, but the vocals are absolutely insaaane!! Lowest growls ever.

Yes, that's what a $40 dollar voice recorder mike gets you when you attempt to record guitar with it. :p
Thanks. I've never attempted growling along to a song before that.
I'm not even saying any lyrics...no lyrics. Just mindless rambling and incoherent nonsense syllables.
Bah, the drums suck more than a hooker you paid for for an hour.
:p
Just kidding. Drums were spot on, given the circumstances...

Dude. Relax.
Drums were fine. Don't worry about it...lots of people liked the drums.
I'm gonna see if I can rerecord the song with a metronome, and better vocals. After I finish my next project, that is...epic doom metal. :D

I thought the drums were good. I bit quiet, though. Try recording guitars directly from your amp's line out.

????
I don't know what you're talking about...:upset:
I just hang the mike in front of the amp speaker. It works, just not very well.
I could always try recording at my friend's house...we have a couple of ways to do that.
1. Put the amp on the other side of the room, wrap his $5 Radioshack mike in a bandanna and place it under a pillow, make everything quiet as possible, and attempt to record. That thing distorts SO easily, yet gets really nice recording tone.
2. Record directly into Audacity with his Eyetoy. :p

Is there a chord that goes from guitar amp to computer?
BTW, your avatar rocks balls.

I record through a mic in my computer into Audacity. For $15, it's unbelievable how clear the sound is.

Most amps have either a line out, or a headphone jack. Get your cable, plug it into either jack and put that into whatever you record with (4-track, Audacity, whatever). Then you don't have to worry about line distortion, and you will get the tone that comes directly from your preamp. You don't have to contend with volume levels, mic distortion, positioning or any of that crap.

Yes, it's the cable with a 1/4 inch jack on one end and a small jack (for lack of a better term) on the other. Just plug it right into your computer's mic plug.
And thanks, yours is sweet too. Nile all the way.

Bah, I see no line out...I use an old school Mesa Boogie amp for my guitar. All I see on the front is Input and Foot Switch.
Maybe I'll try that, though, if I find one...my recorder has a plug where you can plug in another mike, which I do. However, its a standard headphone jack. :upset:

Because it sounds different. It's that simple. It all sounds completely different and he obviously uses different techniques. Why do you keep arguing this?

that song, as well as We're Not Gonna Fall and Trashed Lost & Strungout are the 3 songs that still sound the most like good old cob, imo.
some of the other songs are good, but no matter how much i think of this as a ''new completely different release'' and/ or not comparing it to old stuff, i just cant dig this is much as i thought i would :(
