Hate Me! is currently my favourite Bodom song, although i only have Follow the Reaper. i really should get AYDY? and Hatecrew Deathroll.

Get Hatebreeder, then Something Wild, then Tokyo Warthearts, then Hatecrew Deathroll, then Are You Dead Yet

hey people
been playing angels dont kill and bodom beach terror for a while, bodom beach terror riff, at about 2:06 is amazing, love playing it :D

i was gonna learn triple corpse hammerblow but then i heard read Metallion#666 saying how good chokehold is to play on guitar (the drummer in my band loves that song :p) so im gonna learn that now i think...or triple corpse hammerblow

Once again, my offer stands.

This goes for anybody. I REALLY need some of this stuff for my project.

Do you need Filth? I can get you Filth.

Yeah why do we have to keep arguing about this, people like what they like, leave it at that.

Poor guy, that's all you say, isn't it?

I'll jump on the bandwagon and rate.

Speaking of Inearthed...the in one of their songs (I haven't downloaded them yet, a friend let me listen to it so I don't know the name) there is singing...is that Alexi?

There are some InEarthed demos I think available for stream (download?) at scythes of bodom I think.

I said your all hot cuz it seems like everyones part of a band and thats hot :thumb: i need to learn to play something :upset:

Yea, but Meshuggah doesn't really require bending the strings at all...Arch Enemy does. Gets it JUST enough off pitch to make it sound weird.

MRDuCran
10-08-2005, 09:55 PM
Nah, theres quite alot of bending in Meshuggahs riffs. Not the solos maybe but the riffs yes. It might not even be by that much but if it's on a **** guitar, it'll go out of tune.

That's what I was saying. I love every single one of their albums, but I think Hatebreeder and HCDR had a couple (only a couple) songs that were more 'meh' than usual. FtR, SW, and AYDY? all didn't have a single bad song, but it's still hard to say which album is best, because I love them all.

I find their first 4 albums were all amazing. But then they come along with AYDY... and I couldn't stand it. The only track I liked was Trashed, Lost, and Strungout, and that wasn't even written at the same time. I was so disappointed with AYDY its not even funny. HCDR was straightforward but had enough energy for me to appreciate it nontheless... to me AYDY just sounds tired and uninspired.

Just curious, anyone here play Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance?

In the skateboarding mini-game, there is punk/metal remix of the theme and me and my bassist who love the game thought it was an awesome remix. He wanted me to tab it but I didn't think I could. Well, I gave it a shot and I have it perfect besides the guitar solo which I haven't done yet. I should start tabbing real songs. If anyone is familiar with it I'll send you what I have done so far.

I think they try waaaaaaay to hard to be progressive, and consequently, their songwriting suffers. I tried listening to "I", but after they repeated the same intro riff for about 5 minutes I couldn't take it anymore. They bore the living hell out of me, like most other progressive bands I know.

It's the opposite for me. Powertab is always ****ing up for me, but GP has always worked perfectly.

I think they try waaaaaaay to hard to be progressive, and consequently, their songwriting suffers. I tried listening to "I", but after they repeated the same intro riff for about 5 minutes I couldn't take it anymore. They bore the living hell out of me, like most other progressive bands I know.

This is kind of a late response but...

The intro to I lets you do what your suppose to easier: lose yourself in the polyrhythms and complexity. You kind of zone out while listening to that riff, and then the actual song hits.

Technical does not mean progressive by the way. I wouldn't call Meshuggah progressive.

Atreyu I would say is. I've only heard one song, but it had really terrible singing and it went into a really overused and obvious breakdown.

People here are talking about whether Trivium are metalcore or not and do they have emo vocals.

And you'll probably get told to not talk about other bands apart from CoB in this thread.

Sorry please forgive me :upset: *lowers head in shame*

This has become more of a community thread for coB fans. We talk about all sorts of things, so feel free to join in and ignore any douchebag comments people try and give you.

I have mixed feelings on Machine Head.

Machine head's latest was okay. Day's turn blue to gray was good, there were a few other good songs. Overall its nothing great. **** chat filters!

I've heard some songs that were really kickass and others that were total garbage. Very inconsistent, but they've been making for so long I think they can do whatever the hell they want.

strapping young lad is a excellent newer band. Alien is a really good album. I've had thoughts of going to see them later this year. They are playing with soilwork and fear factory. fear factory is hit and miss. But soilwork and Strapping young lad are excellent.

First off, who gives a **** if hxc kids think they are "cool".
They are not death metal, they are either melodic death or power metal.
Whether Alexi has long hair, if your more concerned over how he looks than the music, suit yourself.

A. They're not death metal...not even close.

B. You're basing your liking/disliking of a band on the members' looks? Enough said...

C. You're basing your liking/disliking of a band on who else happens to like them? Enough said...

Get an education, drop the ignorance, and gain some maturity, then come back and see us.

notice the "" marks around death, that means i havent looked into COB enough to say exactly what genre they fit into, and i dont care how good a bands sound can be but if they look like girls then i dont want to listen to it,theres nothin cool about followin a band that look like girls, its dreadful

They're power metal. Alexi looks no more like a girl than any other metal band really, and that shouldn't even matter.

It just shows that some metalcore dumbasses do have decent taste. I guess it's a regional thing though. Around here, no one likes CoB, least of all those "metalcore fags".

Don't make pointless ignorant comments about a band though. Saying lake bodom is your fav song. great its a good song :thumb:

But, when you judge a band on the singers looks? Or beause idiot hxc kids try to fit in and act "cool" by assciating themselves with the band. Thats just plain ignorant, stupid, immature, this won't let me write enough towards that.

Judge a band on,
Talent, guitar work, drumming, vocals, lyrics, etc. Originality, Overall sound of their music, alot more things but you get the point. Not who thinks who or what is cool.

CoB is sort of power ranger's music. The power ranger's theme is heavy/power metal, it's really not all that distant from Bodom.

Nothin wrong with some Power Ranger's music.

Those aren't emo vocals. MCR is emo vocals, where the singer sounds like he's about to start crying.
MCR is far from emo.

I know exactly waht Trivium sound like, they sound a lot like Atreyu to me, who most refer to as Metalcore. Listen to the chorus of Pull Harder and tell me those aren't emo vocals.
Emo Vocals = Mostly very intense and screaming.

Angels Don't Kill. It's the continuation of the outro in Bodom Beach Terror.
"My pain is constant and sharp, and I do not hope for a better world for anyone. In fact, I want my pain to be inflicted on others. >> I want no one to escape"
