We Come Out At Nigth isn't very 'eratic,' as you put it, the structure is actually pretty simple and predictable, it's a really easy song to learn.

I think that at the beggining he is just hitting the snare to the beat of the guitar, and the after I think he is just doing two hits on the double bass quickly, and then using floor toms, or just doubling tracking the double bass, which it kinda sounds like.

The first album i bought by Avenged was COE. I thought it was great until i heard WTF and STST. They blow COE out of the water. I know the singer says he cant scream anymore but i think its bs. They should go back to how they were without the less nasaly singing. The guitarwork on COE is good but it is less heavy than previous albums. I still like COE i just think their old style was better for them.

Not necessarily. One of the biggest problems with STST was the production. They only had five days to put this album together...and the fact that they managed to do it and make it successful is great. And.....I like this album a lot...it's just that they had more oppurtunities with the next two that they did. Many people will also say that COE is the best....but I happen to like WTF. Sure....the guitar work and vocals of COE are much better...but there's something that sticks out with WTF. But yeah...definitely check out their old stuff as well...definitely good...just not as good.

Hmm, can't see why you think this, Shadows clean singing sounds worse (a lot more nasaly as people have said) plus its not as varied because there's no screaming. I can agree on the other points but not on that.

Opinions opinions, some people like myself perfer his new voice, and the new guitar work, it is slightly varied though. Barely though, just some parts with harmonized singing in the higher registers, but also some regular talking and regular singing. Don't complain about being no screaming, unless you'd like Synyster, The Rev, Zacky, or the bassist  to scream.

His clean vocals on that album are punk vocals, they're meant to have the whole nasally gravelly tone, and the harsh vocals are incorrectly performed, so they don't sound quite right, still good though. I love Waking the Fallen, because it's so great musically, plus nobody notices that a lot of the vocals are a screamo styled screaming.

Change that nobody to everybody and you're correct. A7X lost all there super kewl hxc fans because he didn't do emo screams anymore.

Change that nobody to everybody and you're correct. A7X lost all there super kewl hxc fans because he didn't do emo screams anymore.
I like lots of punk, don't get me wrong, but punk vocals aren't that whiney.
Most punk bands have there own vocal style, and it's what makes each of them unique.
edit:
Actually, now that I think of hardcore punk bands, the vocals are still kinda whiney. Still, something about the clean ones on STST drive me nuts.
I'm saying that nobody notices that the screaming is screamo styled, of course everybody notices how much the screaming stands out.

That's probably because 90% of the world has no idea what screamo is.

That is a valid point. Most bands that are considered Emo these days barely even resemble Punk, let alone that specific subgenre of Hardcore.

Korn - Alternative & Punk

There will be no chance of the new albums having screaming. They said that they didn't really want to scream too much after STST....but they didn't want to make that big of a jump too fast...so they lessened it on WTF...and were planning to cut the screaming on their new album anyway. So I seriously doubt that there will be any screaming on future albums.

Long hair? What? They still wear all black you idiot.
Besides, you like Slayer, so your opinion means squat.
Oh I see your one of these "i love emo" people. Pu$sy.

Anyone seen them live? Are they any good?
Yeah they were amazing live, but they didn't play Second Heartbeat or anything off STST. I was gonna see them in September but they cancelled their tour.

Then maybe it's not the kind of music for you. IMO Bat Country is one of the weakest songs on the album.

I agree. I think tracks like strength of the world and the wicked end are alot better. Bat Country has more commercial appeal though as it isn't the longest song on the album.
Has anyone seen the new video?
np - second heartbeat :D

Apparently it's still too long for radio. Here in LA, KROQ has been playing a radio edit with everything after the last chorus removed. They were playing the whole thing for the first month or so but ad revenue is more important than the music nowadays.

FFS. I haven't heard an edited version but no doubt it'll be half the gitar solo which saves the song from being another 'made for radio rock song' that's edited out.

I've seen second heartbeat live before Shadows busted his vocal chords and i don't want to rub it in but it was phenomenal. When i saw them in may, they only did chapter 4, unholy confessions and IWSYT PT1 from WTF, nothing from stst and the rest (about 6 songs) was off COE.

Have they ever played Sidewinder or The Wicked End live?

I now hate you for rubbing it it.
EDIT: TO Rats!, I dunno, I'd like to see Sidewinder, but you wouldn't be able to hear the acoustic solo that well.

They played both sidewinder and the wicked end live when i saw them headlining but it was before the album came out so no-one really knew them.
