okay i dont spend much time on this board, im always in the pit, so i dont know if this movies come up much so basically i just wanted to say how awesome it is and find out what you guys thought about it, so in a word: discuss.

Agreed, this movie rocked, the gunfights were actual gunfights, when he extended the things from the bottom of the gun I nearly shat myself, I'm surprised nothing else has been done with this movie.

It's the idea of 1984 come to the screen, except this society is more controlling. Nevertheless, this is one of my favorite movies.

Great film, good acting, amazing coreography. It may be a 1984 based storyline but in my opinion this film is far better. But the the book is better than both but hey, very entertaining. 1984 film < Equilibrium < 1984 book. Loved the fights as well.

two of the best stunts IMO are the ones where he runs over the machine gun and flicks it up with his feet and the one where he knocks the two guns pointed at his head around then catches them.

but the best fight scene has to be the one where he uses the butts of his guns with the nails, they filmed that in just half an hour ya know :eek:

I didn't like it that much. I saw it just the other night and expected a lot, but it didn't come. Seemed to be full of flaws in concept, and for a film trying to be deep that's bad. Also, I didn't think the fight scenes were ala that good, I prefer huge exploding buildings with machine guns and stuff, where loads of money is wasted seeing if the helicopters are flameable. 7/10

You know the man from equilibrium will be in the next James Bond film as James Bond, pretty sure of this. :)

totally loved this film, but the ending showed how hypocrital a leader could be....kinda reminds me of the present goverments

Yeah this film was pretty good. Some people refer to it as the 'poor man's Matrix', which is a bit harsh because the people in Equilbrium can actually act. Good film, haven't seen it in a while though.

yeah the acting was actually really good IMO, although to be fair, in terms of acting i think the matrix could have done worse...just, if it wasnt for all those fightscenes, it wouldnt have made it anywhere
