I have played the Guild Wars beta and also played at my friend's house bunch of times and I got to say it's super good. I have never played World of Warcraft because of its monthly fees. None of my friends have it because of the same reason. but i heard some good things about the game. they say that the required specs are low and PvP is really addicting. I have played diablo 2 but im sure wow is better.
and last week i went to 3 stores spend my money on a game. i wanted guild wars so i was looking for it and all 3 best buys that i went to was sold out! and there was WOW. but i wasnt sure if i really wanted to get it because of the monthy fees. so i came out of the store with my money still in my wallet.
next week, i will be going to ebgames and i really need your opinion whether i should stick with no monthly fees and online rpg-guild wars or monthly fees and massively multiplayer-World of warcraft?

You can't really compare the two, they are almost completely different games.

Guild Wars is better if you like money. Though the n00b/good player ratio is higher on GW
(This information was provided by a close MMORPG playing friend. please dont enquire with me further)

Guild Wars is slightly different, if you love team based RPGs like Neverwinter Nights with a very competitive PvP environment then get Guild Wars, if you want to build up one character for years then WoW I guess

GW is way better IMO. More variety and more fun! If you like pvp you don't have to level grind; there is an option to create a character on the highest level and do PVP. As for Adams comment; I think someone dosen't realize that GW came out less than a month ago... why wouldn't there be more noobs?

Though on WoW you can do everything in a group, and the newly added PvP ranks system makes that very competitive, but I haven't played GW, so it could be quite different for all I know. WoW is incredibly addicting, so if you have some kind of life, be careful with it.

Guild Wars is my first MMORPG primarily because of no monthly fee, but I am also not let down at all. Questing with other people is not only necessary but incredibly fun. I haven't tried out the PvP or joined a guild yet, though probably soon, so I can't speak really on that.
