MOD EDIT

This is the new official thread for the bands Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, and Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution. It has had every SLM, Catch 22, and BOTAR thread I could find merged into it. In this thread you can discuss these three bands and news surronding them.

Any other new threads about these bands will be closed.

When they come for me I'll be sitting at my desk with a gun in my hand wearin' a bulletproof vest singin' "my my my how the time does fly when you know you're gonna die by the end of the night"..

neffernin
02-02-2005, 03:21 AM
ive seen them live twice, I saw them when they played in grand rapids last year and when they played in toledo. Though they don't put on any great stage show and stick to just playing their music, they do an incredible fing job at it. I am seeing them.... today I guess it would be.

Also, Here's To Life by SLM is a cover of BOTAR. BOTAR covers Hey Sergio from keasby nights.

Last time I saw them live, they added "hey ska" onto their set by the suicide machines, since I've seen the suicide machines live many times (and seen them horribly try to play the song live w/o horns lol) it was really exciting.

Also, if you are going to their show, expect to hear one or two botar songs, notably "They provide the paint for the picture-perfect masterpiece that you paint inside your eyelids" and "It's a wonderful life." (also here's to life, but that's to be expected)

I have to say, SM are (is??) amazing, Tomas Kalnoky=3yrs in prison for armed robbery. Just amazing people. It sucks with the leaving of James Egan and Josh Ansley. Im seeing them live the 6th, awesome show. BOTAR is also really cool. They're so offbeat that it's just amazing. Some relative of Tomas' is in BOTAR, his name is Achilles Kalnoky. How Eastern European. He lives in Prague. Rock on Czech Republic.

What are you talking about? They have been nothing but positive the two times I've seen them (5 if you count the 2 live mp3 shows and 1 video recording). They only band they've said anything remotly negetive about is someone called out for them to play "Alone in a Crowd" by catch 22 after thomas left and he responded "keep saying that and you'll be alone in a crowd"

Uh-Buh. They basically are Catch 22 minus Ryan Eldred and have a few more guys from one Cool Guy.

And as for re-recording Keasby Nights: i think it is a GREAT idea. Maybe Catch 22 will finally break up once they stop making money off of Keasby Nights. I think Streetlight should have bought the royalties for the original keasby nights in the first place. But a more evolved version will be much better. Hopefully they will have the BOTAR version of "Dear Sergio".

I definately second that ^. Catch 22 lost everything when Tomas and company left the band. Their release after Keasby nights, Alone in the Crowd, was very good but nothing like Keasby Nights. It sounded alot plainer and Keasby Nights had something only Tomas and the other could provide. Then dinosaur sounds came out showing Catch 22 was only going downhill.
