Thomas writes everything, from the lyrics down to the drums and horn section parts. I guess that everyone gives input, and things are changed here and there, but he has the final say about everything.
He writes the horn line, and comes up with the basic idea of the bass line. He doesn't write drums(according to every interview I've seen, and I've seen and read and heard a lot).

I dunno, I read this interview with Chris Thatcher:
CT - I mean, he writes everything, He even writes the drum parts. And for instance, with the drum parts, if I hear something thats not right or whatever, then ill do what I think is right and then he'll be like 'yes' or 'no' and then we'll figure it out, ultimatley, hes the master planner.

There is a new news letter on their site if you guys haven't seen it:
taken from www.streetlightmanifesto.com
08.10.05
indeed!
hey you.
smack dab right in the middle of this unusually warm summer, we're back with an update. ok, where to begin... ah, let's do a list, yeah?
1) rad little tour lined up for september and october that covers the parts of the country we didn't hit on the june tour (namely anything not in the northeast). coming out with us this time will be whole wheat bread (encore!) and bedouin soundclash, two awesome bands. a good time is guaranteed to be had by all.
2) dates for the next manifesto tour to cover the old world (yes, that means europe) will be up in the next few days. we can say, however, that the dates are from october 18th through november 23rd, starting in germany and ending in the uk. hopefully more than half the band will be able to make it this time ;-)
3) the summer is going great for us, thanks for asking. we're busy taking care of some non-sm stuff here and there, preparing for more sm-related stuff very soon. we've been going on and on about new stuff planned and planned and postponed and postponed, and we know that's become the sm way, but we want you to know that many things are indeed in the works, and that these things will see the light of day soon. scout's honor.
4) we hope you're having a pleasant summer as well.
5) also, wanted to mention a few firsts coming up on the next tour: 1) show in salt lake city (we've had a freakishly bizarre series of events that always prevented us from playing there) (and to that kid that keeps writing in, cursing us off for hating his city, calm down kid, take your ritalin, we're on the way) 2) our first show in washington dc (finally)
6) we weren't going to play jersey on this tour since we did last tour, but we couldn't resist. we're super excited to be returning to the starland ballroom in october. we tend to do a bunch of touring, then take time off to work on, uhm, "stuff", then return etc, so we couldn't leave for the winter without playing home.
that be it. later

Someone else is their singer now. I forget his name. Pat something?
Which is because Tomas left after Keasby Nights....then C22 went to ****....ok the album right after Tomas left seems okay from the few songs I've heard, but not as good as he wrote....Dinosaur Sounds, though? yuck

Washed Up was a compilation of a lot of songs from many points in Catch 22's time as a band.
Henrik

Hmm, but Thomas doesn't sing on any of the songs. So it has to be post-1998, and it was relased in 1999.

Whoops, my mistake... Although he does play other bands songs. I have heard: Hey! - Suicide Machines, X-Ample - One Cool Guy (although some of the horns are in the band) and Hell (I can't remember the name of the band). There's tonnes of parts in Streetlight Manifesto songs from other songs aswell if you notice it. They also play random stuff like Inspector Gadget if you count that...

In June they told us that here in Pittsburgh. Well, sort of. They said they'd be recording this summer (on myspace a lady confirmed this and said she has recordings, when questioned, she replied that she does have it as she's dating the bassist, someone else went "oh i thought that was you" and she asked if they'd met, but he said Chris told him about her...so yes, she's definitely Chris's g/f and telling the truth). Tomas said they had a "treat" for us because BOTAR was going into the studio just like Streetlight.

From what I've heard, The Supervillians kick some major *** aswell. I've been meaning to check some more of The Toasters out, so this concert should get me connected.
I've been wondering(along with many other locals) whether The Toasters or Streetlight are headlining. Ah! What happened?!

10-04-2005, 04:20 PM
it is with great sadness that we have to announce that, as we slept in our hotel rooms last night, we were robbed blind.
upon waking up this morning, we walked out into the hotel parking lot to find our van had been broken into and our trailer taken. the pieces of human **** behind this broke the lock off of the driver's side door, entered our tour van, and picked it clean of all of our possessions. they then managed to jimmy the vehicle into neutral, push it forward about twenty feet, break the lock off of our hitch and attach our trailer to their vehicle. then they drove away. all of this happened in the hotel parking lot, just yards away from where we slept.
besides the priceless personal possessions we lost from the van, everything that enables us to be a band was contained in that trailer. all of our horns, guitars, drums, amps, microphones, rack gear, mic stands, every last bit of merchandise and cds, every sticker, patch , button with our logo on them, our banner, EVERYTHING. in all, we were robbed of approximately 80 thousand dollars worth of gear, merch and personal possessions.
words cannot begin to expain what we are feeling now. anyone that's in a touring band knows that being on tour is like bringing your entire life with you in a van, and we were literally robbed of all that, everything that enables us to make music, the instruments we worked our asses off to purchase so we could dedicate our lives to this.
right now we're reeling, yet trying to put the pieces back together. we've unfortunately had to cancel the next four shows (jacksonville, atlanta, norfolk and morgantown) as we head back home to cobble together some equipment for the last 3 shows of this tour (washington dc, our beloved homecoming show at the starland ballroom, and long island). we're deeply sorry for having to cancel the shows, but there's no way around it.
right now, we're each practically broke due to this and missing costly equipment that we need to continue being in this band. after the europe tour most of us will have to get real jobs to try to break even with the debt all this has incurred us.
obviously, if you want to help us out, feel free. if you can take a road trip to one of the last three shows, please do. any ticket sales and merch purchases will help us get back on our feet. we've been busting our asses on the road for months with no tour support from anyone and we've just been getting by, making rent and living our lives.
thank you all for your past and continueed support. hopefully we will see you in the future, under happier circumstances.

Eminem is the exception the rap thing. Cuz he's not bad.
Wait, country bands can get their **** stolen too. They'll just wittle a new guitar out of a twig anyway. Then they can take a washing tub, broom pole, and string and make an upright bass. And ummm...a washboard will work for percussion along with the spoons.
I hate you.
