Fruity Loops = Confusing?

How does it even work actually? I tried referring to the Help Contents but they don't seem to explain what I wanna know. I've tried Googling and don't get good results.

What I wanna know is why only some of the instruments have sound and most of them don't make sounds when I "press" on their boxes. I use the 4.x version, if that matters.

Can someone guide me through this? I play metal, is there another better and more user-friendly drum machine for this?

What you need to do is Set the tempo, the resolution (in the options menu I think), amd then place the notes on the lighted button things(the lights that are plentiful). The rows (Horizontal) are instruments/samples, and the columns (up + down) are the time slot... It's easy



Just scroll thru the sample menu on the left and press the name to hear it, then right clik and load it to the highlighted (green light next to the name button in the middle) channel. Make sure you have the sample channel you want to load it to is highlited....

I like to use 32 notes per bar. The 32 (rather than 8) allows you to change the feel better than using randomize.

Edit: Under REALDRUMKITS, none of the instruments (actually snare and toms) don't make any sounds...

I went inside the REALDRUMKITS folder and opened the .wav files. The files search for codec when opened with WMP and the codec search failed. That's why they don't sound on Fruity Loops I guess?

Then Drag and Drop
It couldnt be easier

i do that, kick play and there's no sound. i click to include them but the only bloody patch that seems to work is 'hand clap'!

Hmm maybe you had a faulty download
Uninstall, re-download from a different source and try again
Thats all I can help as Ive never had any problems with mine
