Hey y'all.

Im just curious,

A)what wire is used in bass distortion pedals, is it copper?
B)what guage is the wire?
C)how to bass FX pedals get more low end than guitar ones, and can you change guitar ones to give them more low end?
D)how are bass pedals different to guitar pedals?

Anyway help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

they're not that different, really. Use high quality copper wire and you'll be ok.

yeah thanks, its just im thinking of modifying a guitar one, its just with a regular guitar FX pedal on bass, i will lose all my low end.

right,

what is the pedal you're thinking of using?

Any EQ controls want to be totally flat, and tone controls want to be on full.

If you had a schematic and some details, i'll take a look see which biots need butchering :D

uh ok.

I think its called a Arion Distortion.

Its cheap lol.

Uh yeah i thought that the pots need to be changed (from 500k to 250k?)but i dont know what else needs to be done.

Sorry i dont have schematics.

roight.

you might very well get away without doing anything to that- plug it in and see. you're main issue will be the tone/Eq control(s) on the pedal, which you might want to remove.

what should i replace the tone and EQ with?

because they will probably be 500k, so if i replace with 250?

Thanks

the value of the pots are actually irrelevant to the frequencies affected- its the values of the attatched capacitors that makes a difference.

I' afraid i lack the knowledge to find the correct cap calues. see if moseph can halp.
