Alright i need some help.
Any correct way to sing Helloween/high power metal type vocals?
I used to be able to do it (around a month ago), i stopped, and now, when i try to, i can reach some, but while singing/screaming, my voice cuts off for like a few secs before coming back on. What has happened? It is posibble to lose octaves? My voice had broke a long time ago, so that's not a reason.

Other than that, another question is about Backup vocals. Is harmonizing for backup vocals the same theroy as guitars? (3rds, 5ths etc) How do we sing backup vocals?

(This entire post is regarding hardrock/heavy/power metal)

You only have a few octaves...youre probably not gonna lose them. But yea, if you dont warm up thoroughly you can chalk up any consitency when it comes to trying to reach notes at the top of your range. Lets remember that sometimes a song is just out of your range. At least until one can work to get to that level...if possible. Harmonizing is harmonizing...it just depends on what style youre doing or what you want it to sound like. Experiment...but yea, in general youre looking at probably an octave lower or higher...and 3's and 5's.

Alot of power metal is a really high head voice (like your normal singing) and that tends to be hard... it can take alot of practice. Then there's alot of falsetto in it as well, which, in my opinion, takes alot of practice for it to sound good. So if you understand how to improve those two areas, then you should see progress. Practice scales and whatnot. I used to push harder to try to get the higher notes, but then I realized I'm just straining, so relax and just find out what your voice is capable of; and keep working on that. Before you know it, you might just increase your range; I did. As for harmonizing, yeah it's the same as guitars, they're just intervals... it's the same for any instrument.
