It would be nice if you had someone take candid shots of you guys, rather than all these posed photos. They look too fake, especially the guy with the glasses.

I think they're good.
To the person calling them fake, of course they are fake, practically every single picture of a band you see off the stage is 'fake'. The aim of the photo isn't so people think, "wow, this photographer found these guys just staring into space in the woods"
They're good enough and appropriate for band usage.
Anyone who says otherwise is just being a pretentious tart.

that's just absurd. tell that to diane arbus (after bringing her back from dead, of course). granted, the photographer is no arbus, so my comparison is nearly as absurd....but my point is that some interesting moments can come out of very natural circumstances, even in the horribly-boring-by-nature medium of photography (sarcasm).. to say otherwise is just giving up.

as for the photos.. doesn't look like my kind of thing, but they're overall not too bad IMHO.. I agree, though, that ANYTHING taken of you guys without the poses will be 100x more interesting to look at. as it is now, they just seem a bit too pretentious (especially the dude in the glasses).....as if you guys were trying too hard to fit into the role that's expect of a rock/metal band.. it's very expected, and thus not very exciting.. of course, I know you guys aren't trying to break ground in terms of band photography, but anything that might set you apart might help, especially if it's ridiculously easy to avoid. that includes posing as such.. ;)

then again, I'm just happy none of you guys are putting on your tough guy I-don't-give-a-fark-about-anything faces like so many metal bands etc seem to do hahah.. it may not be the best thing in photography, but it functions well for what it is and if you guys like it, then to hell with what we say heh..

Well i guess the last one is a very cool idea, except everyboday avoiding the camera in all those pics is totaly gay. The only people who take pictures like that are posers, maybe look at the camera...

Interesting moments? You mean like a pod of whales surfacing?
Name some that would allow him to have band photos for a presskit that were interesting, the aim is not to have a photo that wins prizes or has other photographers wobbling at the knee's.

The fact of the matter is, this is a photo shoot for a band, do you have any idea how many times I'd have to stab myself if every band felt the need to be more 'interesting'.
This is music and not drama, I'm so sick of bands and artists who have to be extravagant all the time.
READ: My Chemical Romance, doing that stupid funeral march thing.
This is music, it's not drama class. The threadstarter is happy with his photos, I think they are good and appropriate, and I very much doubt that anyone they send the photos to in the presskit will think,
"Gosh, I love these guys musically, and they definately shift units, but....it's just I wish instead of a serious picture they sent me one of them all diving off a bridge with their instruments, I guess I'll just have to sign someone else"

If the band want to look away from the camera then it is their choice.
Naturally everyone has their own opinion on what they like, some people obviously prefer pictures in which everyone looks in the camera, but other people may prefer moodier photos. In short, a couple of them are looking away in the picture, please stop crying about it.
