A friend & I want to record some songs together. Just for fun, we're not trying to go anywhere with this, we'd just like to have a little fun while improving our playing. Well, I play guitar & he plays bass... we don't live near each other, we'd just be sending our stuff back & forth by computer, so we want something to add drums behind our tracks.
We've both tried FL & FL Studio, & niether of us were impressed with it. We want real sounding samples, not techno. We tried Sony Acid Pro, but it was a bit confusing. We aren't opposed to learning it, but before we start getting into it, we thought we'd ask here to see if there were any other recommendations you guys had. If there's relatively inexpensive hardware that would work better than software, feel free to recommend that as well.
If it helps, I'm using Adobe Audition 1.5 software & a Line6 Guitar Port 2.0 hardware to record my guitar. He's just getting started, but will probably be using the same.
Also, we know there's no replacing a real drummer, but like I said: we're not trying to do anything with this, we're just having fun playing music.
Anyways, thanks in advance!
