well, i got a new band, we are 14, we are ltk (changing name currently) and weve been playing for a month??
we have 2 recordings with a dynamic mic, and i spose it kinda sucks, but you can hear the guitat, drums, etc.. sadly as yet there are no vocals... we have lyrics and they fit but we didnt record them...
we have a song that is done i spose, im not sure if we will ever play it as it was our first, and then we jammed last saturday and in the last 1 hour of so actually came up with a few good riffs to make alkaline.
we have:
...into the fire - done, instrumentation has been updated since recording (a big diff.)
alkaline - 1/5 done maybe (soon to be bigger and better i hope)

please check us out and see what you think, crit please but if you think we suck you can just say it i spose lol, its only a month, only bigger and better things could come out of this.
i spose you could say we are not good enough to record our own songs but yeh i think that too, i just want feedback to see whether we are going in the right direction! so i dont want any lectures please... :)
thanks in advance, catch yaz later... ryan...

I actually really liked that. I don't exactly know why, but I really did. Both songs, in my opinion, would be outstanding if it wasn't for the recording quality and lack of vocals (i know you'll put them later).
Anyway the fact that the song (into the fire) sometimes stopped or just seemed to go into an unexpected direction reminds me of Between the Buried and me, with a little more melody. You seem to pull that off without hesitation, like it's natural. You guys definately sound like you know what you're doing.
I'd like to hear Alkaline when you finish it.
Hey, if you could, could you feedback on my band too? http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=333636

i wanna hear alkaline when i finish it to.. ill be sure to put it back up with a another **** house recording lol
yeh into the fire.. is bit a wierd like that, the 3rd verse is retarded and we changed that so yeh... well record a ****ty version updated again another time i spose....

I actually wasn't expecting anything when I clicked the link... But how delightfully crazy it ended up being... Done in a studio (the Lottery will fund this), you could make quite the beast.

how do u do the screeching sound in the beggining of that fire song?
_bombsh3ll_
04-28-2005, 06:37 AM
at the start of akaline.. the screeching is harmonics.. accept played badly lol
im a drummer so ill try explain..
if you can do a mute... u can just have to slightly touch the strings even less than a mute... try that

It's decent, i guess. I don't like that kind of music, but theres nothing terrible wrong with it. The drums are way too loud, and the guitarist makes mistakes, but for your first two recordings it's very good.

You know what, people on this site are too nice. Teach your drummer how to drum. And do fills. And do fills without messing up his timing.

well personally im drumming for the band and not the soloing world of drums...
i dont know about the timing perspective... apparently from many people i have awesome timing..
but yeh... you got any recordings of yourself or in a band??

You really need to keep the drummer in beat, The music was good and all. But You guys were always speeding up or slowing down, and you know, some songs do that with the speeding up. But the whole song was constantly like that. I know from experiance what it is like, when i started I wasn't great. but If you want to get the drummer to stay in beat, maybe cut some of the paused on "into the fire"...
I have been a drummer for 7 years, so I know what its like and I have my facts to back me. Im just trying to give you some helpful advice.
And also, on the Alkaline song. I know you guys are just starting it, but the intro really needs some work, and as you grow as a band is how you will change it better. First off on that song, The guitar with the harmonics is off beat with what hes trying to play, then the drums come in and the tempo goes down a lot.
So really just work on tempo and you got it made.

yeh well get the tempo better obviously, we will def. practice a bit more, that recording was when we first made the song, we will upgrade it this week. so maybe we have improved the tempo steadyness and im quite sure we have.
it seems the guitar playing when going down the fret board slows down, which is stupid lol, im not sure, i actually just realised..
thanks for the time of writing all that **** man, really helped us out!
catch ya later
