Hey guys
I was wondering if you could explain the differences between the types of Cubase aviable... and which would be best for a home studio ?

I think the steinberg website is your best bet - if you want an exact comparison. But if you're running a home studio on a budget, I'd suggest Cubase SE. It's the cheapest of the SE/SL/SX set, still records a decent amount of audio/midi tracks, lets you use effects and so on, and if you want more you can always upgrade.
Or you could use a filesharing program and download Cubase SX. But I didn't say that because I'm a recording artist who buys programs.

i never feel comfortable p2p'ing software.
I wish softeware manufacturers would make the orevious version still available for half the price when a new version comes out, or somehting like that.
