If it's as good as it looks, it'll be one of the best sporting games ever.

That looks great. The play selection menu looked different though. If they change the play calling system, I'll be very very surprised.

The only good version this year would be on the xbox 360 :)
but none of that looks like in-game footage to me so eh

It is just an artists impression of what the next generation graphics will look like, apparently EA weren't very happy about the graphics because they say they can produce graphics that demolish those shown in the advert.

That is the definition of amazing. The graphics look os sweet. And of course, you have got to love watching the Eagles dominate like that. So true to reality.

I miss the 2k series, Blitz, and ESPN.

Never liked Madden. But hey, don't really have a choice now do I?

I dont think you can really judge much from that, there is very little actually shown from the game, so the graphics dont really prove much

Everything looked very smooth, some of the new features looked good (such as the injury screen), and the minor details (player actions, crowd, etc.) all looked very good.

It's not enough to base whether or not you'll like it, but it certainly looks much better than the previous football games.

You can't judge at all, as they are artists impressions of what the graphics may be like, the real thing will be much more impressive.

They have screenshots* at Gamespot

Just search "Madden 2006"
*Artists impressions

So why would EA Sports choose to advertise that if they supposedly said that they didn't like the "interpretations?"

It makes zero sense.

All this week we've been bringing you unbelievably sexy images of EA's next-gen Madden NFL game, which is to be officially unveiled in a 60-second US TV commercial this weekend.

They look nice, don't they? Well, don't take them as an indication of next-gen graphical prowess. Reports suggest that the images and the video are not taken from true game footage.

Rather, reports suggest that the 60-second movie was put together by a team of artists tasked with creating an 'impression' of what EA will be able to do with the next-gen consoles.

We're currently awaiting word from EA as to whether these allegations are correct.

But if these reports prove correct then the images and movie have merely been whipped up by CG experts working from blueprints of what Xbox 2, PS3 and Revolution might be able to do.

But before you get too indignant, check this out. Turns out Tiburon Studios, the dev team behind the Madden series and currently working on the next-gen version, doesn't want the commercial shown - and not because is disagrees with pulling the wool over gamers' eyes.

The reason Tiburon would prefer the commercial not to be shown is that it thinks it gives a poor indication of what next-gen Madden will look like. Apparently the dev team has already been able to demolish the visuals shown off in the ad, meaning next-gen games will look even better.

In a way it's a relief, since comments in our forums have suggested that a lot of readers aren't too blown away by the screenshots.

The commercial will be shown tomorrow on US sports network ESPN during the live presentation of the NFL draft. Unfortunately, it seems that we'll have to wait until the Xbox 2's MTV unveiling on May 12 for the first real glimpse of next-gen power.

No idea why a company other than EA would want to advertise an EA game, but that's just me.

It would make sense if it were done on the internet, but paying that much money to have an interpretation shown is a bit stupid.
