Hey there, our band records at our little home studio. We have about 4 mics, a nice little mixer, and a computer with some recording software on it. I was wondering if anyone had some tips for recording with the stuff we have. We can get new stuff but we're not exactly sure what we need, if anything. You can listen to our songs at www.purevolume.com/anotherdaydreaming. We are really unsure as to how we're supposted to do this. We've read tips and guides but we really wanna know we can do to make US sound better. These forums rock!!!! Thanks, Matt. :thumb:

not much a fan of the guitar tones, especially on the blues one, the guitar is waaayyyyyy too loud and way too bassyi would invest your time into finding healthy tones first, then worry about recording them, and then worry about mixing them, only so much can be fixed in mixing, the goal is to get everything sounding as great as possible without doing any mixing at all, and then you can use mixing to make it sound awesome, theres this really great book i read called The Art of Mixing by David Gibson, it explains everything very clearly and provides visuals, check it out
