I'm a regular over on the drum forum but I thought you guys may be interested in listening to my keyboard player as he is very good...
His name is Dave Woodhouse. He played on allthe Quantic and Quantic Soul Orchestra albums.
His new site is:
http://www.davewoodhouse.com/
and there is some more of him at my site.
http://www.andyedwardsmusic.com/band.htm
and there is a video on my video page.
Check him out on 'Ridiculous Grasp' when he improvises in 15/16
Hope you like.

Hey Dave/Andy,
Nice tunes!
We're already big Quantic fans here at work, and these other collaborations sound great.
How did Dave develop his playing technique?
Are you guys going to be touring up near Leeds anytime?

Hi guys and thanks for the kind words!
Andy has 'passed the baton' :thumb: and i'm here to answer any questions on life, love or my peculiar brand of jazz-rock-fusion.
PlayRecord.Net UK asked "how did Dave develop his playing technique?". Well, i've been playing keyboards for about 10 years now but before that i'd been playing trumpet so I already had some experience in music. I had a few piano lessons which were valuable as I learned my scales, arpeggios and (more importantly) the fingerings for these exercises. With this knowledge (and a keen ear) I was able to start to copy the keyboard parts on the records I loved so much - Weather Report, Pat Metheny Group, Herbie Hancock to name just a few.
With my like-minded friends from College, we jammed through challenging tunes - stuff like Chameleon by Herbie Hancock and Black Market by Weather Report - sounding rough at first but with practise we got better. This is probably the time when my technique saw it's biggest acceleration.
Playing in bands - in particular, playing in bands where you may not be the best musician - is, in my opinion, the best way to improve. You'll always pick up a new technique or a new way of doing something by learning a new tune and challenging yourself to play it better and better each time you play it.
Mind you, a bit of practise now and again doesn't go amiss! These days I tend to practise by playing over chord changes - usually chord changes i'm not that familiar with. Finger exercises are good too - beginning your practise session by playing some easy arpeggios or licks - or maybe something from a beginners tuition book - starting off at a comfortable tempo and trying to play them faster and cleaner each time. Exercises that focus on the 3rd, 4th and 5th fingers are good as these are the weakest and take longer to develop.

Are there any more Quantic albums in the pipeline? Any tours scheduled for Leeds?
