I just bought it

I think its really fun, but honestly (being a fan of the original) its not really "new" per say. The graphics and some of the features received an upheavel...but that seems like it. I would've liked more places to visit (outside of your house) more peices of furniture, more building innovations...that would have been nice.

I give it a 7/10, it was still worth the money I paid for it, I believe.

Post your thoughts on the Sims. :)

Both those games get old really quickly. To me, The Sims seems like an RPG taken way too far.

I hope they fixed the crap in the old game where you could have multiple lovers of either sex. That was annoying as hell. Chat with someone thirty times, then flirt once, and suddenly you're doing it. What the hell? I remember my sister use to play it and she would have four men and three women in love with her character at any given point in the game.

You have to do alot more to get someone to really like you. In the old game, I could get married within the span of an hour or so. Today I only got engaged (this sounds wrong) but it took me like four hours straight of trying to get the guy to love me. (i'm playing as a female-- Martha Pussy, to be exact)

Its been fixed. I can still get someone else to like me, but I'd end up losing the other relationship I built completly within the span of seconds (not like the old game, where it took awhile for your lover to notice anything)

I've seen the new one and I cracked up when I saw a guy get beaten up for cheating on his girl with the maid. Even better was when some perverted kid was watching a woman bathe through the window

Those were still fairly minor issues in the original game, though. My real problem with the games are that they attempt to replicate real life (to a certain degree), but in doing so they seem to end up just as boring as real life.

Ha no its really alot better this time around. I was really disappointed in the lack of new features tbh.

All the old ones glitches (so to speak) have been fixed.

I like it, the new veiwpoint got a bit of getting used to and I'm still not completely sure about some things but there's a lot of good stuff they added. I especially like the create a family screen and all the new options for that and I like the toddlers, teenagers, old people etc. A lot of the changes are small like the way you can change the colour of furniture but added together they do make a fairly significant change. The genetics part is good too.

It's not as addicting as the first one, probably only because I've played the first one and there's nothing too majorly different in gameplay or other innovations. It's still a great game with great moments (like the cinematics before making Woo Hoo).

There's more goal oriented things to do to keep time filled, there's more options of interaction, but the sims can still be dumb shits. My guy could be a mad scientist, but he still can't figure out to go pee pee to make the pain stop. I almost think an AI expansion pack would be worth it.

eh, that game got pretty boring. the only thing i didn't like about it was how much space it took. you need an empty computer for it to run smoothly

Good thing I came to this thread, because I was planning on buying the game. I'll just wait 'til it gets really cheap, then buy it. Although after reading all the pros/cons I'm very hesitant.

It's basically just an improved version of the original, which is good. The original got old because having the same people eternally who never grew up was just dull. Having new generations of people and so on makes it a lot more interesting.

But if you didn't like the original you won't like the sequel either. I'm glad they added some 'common sense' features though, like more interactions, 'hanging out', basements, etc.

I was addicted to that game for so long during winter break. I'd be going to sleep at four in the morning every day, waking up and playing it. I cancelled three dentist appointments to play it... now I hate it. Good game thou'.

It's just like real life in the sense that no matter how much you play or how hard you try, you will never win. I quit playing the first Sims once that hit home a few times.

Its coming out for all the systems, but really it won't match up to PC to be entirely honest

It proves one thing about life for me: Life is a series of small goals and/or pointless wandering. Somehow, it still manages to be fun. Sure, eventually it'll get boring, but at the moment i enjoy the interactions, and watching precious little moments. That and it fills time REALLY well.

Something i find fun to do is take characters you like from other fiction (or even life) and put them in. I myself designed sims from Kotor.

I want to play the original so bad, but I lost it. And my computer has no chance of being able to run the new one.

Is the new one online, or do you have to buy the seperate game to play online?

The console versions always suck, they try to give you missions to unlock stuff, then you have to do that forever just to get the things you want, and it weird moving around without a mouse
