So tonight I finally took the time to sit down and watch this movie. I'd heard some bad reviews, and although the film was buried up to it's neck in awards, it seemed to be fairly disliked in general. I have to say though, it was worth the time it took to watch. It had wonderful choreography, a fun musical score, and a great cast. I'm not normally a fan Richard Gere, but I thought he was great as Billy Flynn.
What were your thoughts on this Broadway musical gone film?

I really quite liked it. The cast was indeed awsome, as was alot else about the movie. But... it was missing... IT.
DVG.

I liked it, I thought the number in the prison with all the murderers was the best I think. I liked the story as well. The only thing that annoyed me was how skinny Renee Zweilger looked because her ribs were jutting out and she looked pretty awful. Richard Gere was suprisingly good, you're right.
It always seems to get compared to Moulin Rouge, probably because they both have roughly the same thing going on and came out quite near to each other. I prefer Moulin Rouge but I think that's just because I like the era in France better than the era Chicago was set in.

I really liked it. It's been a while since we had a movie that was original and not based on a book.

I heard the soundtrack for it at work too many times. I grew to hate the movie even though I hadn't seen it.

I agree that Renee Zellweger looked far too skinny, and I also thought she was too pale.
I haven't seen Moulin Rouge yet, but it's next on my list.

Moulin Rouge is my least favorite movie ever.
