Man, I havent listened to them forever. Is the new album worth getting?
Most definitely sir... It's a sideways in the right/new direction for them. Guitar World did an article with Malakian and you get a whole new respect for the band, and the man himself. I used to wonder why everyone thought he was so great but geez... I bow before him.

Understanding In a Crash

Daron also does alot more vocal part's, all guitar lines, most of the bass lines, and some of the drum beats to my knowledge. The album was basically him...

I got to go to bed but I really wish I could listen to the album more... It's all I've listened too for the past 48 hours taking up probably atleast 30..

The only lackluster parts I found was the bass seemed like a deadbeat through the whole album, as it did simple fills at most or just followed the guitar. Some of the lyrics are really... cliche and weak too but their are good lines...

"my **** is MUCH bigger than yours!"

hey, you're not cory!

My housemates all have poker nights fairly often, but I never bother. I'm more one for setting silly challenges like smoking a whole joint in one drag through a bottle, or drinking all 7 flavours of VK in one hour.

That's how I get my kicks.... :smoke: :chug:

I do hope that's not a single bottle of each... if it is, your house parties can't be too lively! :p

I quite like the 'holding the aftershock game' - you take a shot (or two, if you're really hard) of the stuff and instead of swallowing, hold it in your cheeks for as long as you can. Anything over a couple of minutes is ok
anything above 5 is impressive.
Above 8 is hXc
above 11 and you've broken my record, you cunt.

Yeah, I've played hold the aftershock. It's a bit nasty... Not as bad as doing it with Goldschlager though.

And yes, drinking 7 bottles of VK in an hour doesn't sound hard, but I've not seen anyone other than me do it and not throw up. The fizz and sickliness sit on your stomach like a house brick.

June 7th, and it's going to be one of the releases of the year. I hate how so many people say they have solf out with the new sound, and have made it to appeal to the more "hardcore" scene. It's not like they could release another WIITB, and to be honest, I love the new stuff. So amazing

I need to plan refreshments for my party. So far the plans include:

You realize I don't have the album? I just have demos and the songs which have been released. I would get Bitemarks And Bloodstains (Studio Version) if I could actually watch the video and rip it

But the demos that have been released are probably tracks from the album.

Snapping strings is fun. I think a few of you know about my heavy right-hand technique now (I go through plectrums at a stupid rate) so I do tend to see my strings out in spectacular fashion. I'm just glad it's always the high e or b that goes first. If the low e or a snapped you could hurt yourself if you got in the way.

2) Insomniatic Meat (Demo)
3) Ink
4) Miro (Demo)
5) Fireflies (Demo) (Amazing song, even if it is a demo)
6) Brother Bleed Brother
7) Revelation: Song (Demo) (Blows away even Ink I think)
8) Reduced To Teeth (Demo) (Horrible quality though)
9) Miro
10) Ravenous (Demo) (Again, completely craps all over WIITB)
11) Mushroom Party 3 (Instrumental Demo)

Oh, I recorded my friend's band in the studio today. First time I've recorded someone else, lots of pressure. Anyway, it pissed me off to no end.

Firstly, they picked an incredibly hard song to record anyway. It stars out with just guitar, then full band, then the verses are just bass and drums. It would've been simple enough if we could do drums first, but their drummer isn't the best. No offence to him, he's an amazing friend of mine. But he cannot play drums. So we spent all the studio time trying to do bass, then guitar.

Secondly, the guitarist complained at everything and constantly asked why we can't do it simultaniously, so everyone would be playing at once. OK, but you can't mix those kind of songs, and if one person messes up, that's it.

Lastly, equipment was horrible. The bass amp was so quiet, and I could barely get any levels out of it at all. Whereas the guitar was way too loud, and it kept getting too much noise.

We only got bass and guitar done, but we booked it out again next week. I think next time I'm going to get them to demo songs first so I can play it back to them and everything. Thank **** they are only doing 3 songs though (One is a cover of "Can't Touch This").

Still, it felt good recording my friend's band, no matter how studio-unfriendly they were. Plus I'll get put on the back cover of the demo, and I can use one of the songs in my final CD for the course.

But you can't edit and mix tracks where they are all playing. It doesn't work. Plus it's a hell of a lot worse quality, and a lot quieter too.

It pisses me off, because they asked me to produce it for them (No doubt because I can use the studio for free), so I did. And now they are complaining about everything.

And it was so unprofessional too. The bassist had to ask the guitarist how many times to play the verse riff

Grrr, I need to play GTA:SA to calm me down

Meh. It wasn't exactly what I was describing it to be, but it's close.

And I agree. We do need stricter mods, and maybe a few more. Yes, this will sound dumb. But I think I would make a really good mod. I always seem to be around when crappy threads are made, and a lot of the time I'm doing a mod's job and directing n00bs to exact threads they just made a topic about. It would be great if I could close the thread right when I did it. But then again, who couldn't say "Yeah, I'd make a good mod."? Everyone wants to be a mod.

Jim won't be appointing new mods, probably ever as far as he's convinced that the site is running like a dream with the current working staff. I've been recommended for Pit mod along with several other users, mods have been requested in various music forums and so on. Jim doesn't believe it's necessary.

Improving this site is 50% staff effort and 50% user effort. As long as the users simply sit and complain about things that they do on a regular basis, nothing will improve.

Yeah. The main problem is The Pit. Everything else seems to be pretty good, but I definitely think The Pit could use a few more mods. You'd be able to get the job done. You don't take any BS.

Is that what you're looking for?

Also, to put it online if it's just for download purposes, use http://www.yousendit.com/

No, its a quicktime file I have on my laptop. I found a site that can host it I think, but it'll take 6 hours to upload so I'll do it some other time.

I should be mod when I'm back at uni, but I won't be. Oh well :) (On second thoughts I should have been made one awhile ago but I didn't get it for whatever reason :-x)

Jared might make a good mod, sometimes you have quite a temper though dear :-*

I'm not a day late. It just premiered at midnight last night out here.

And yes, I am an angry person.

The day Vince becomes a mod of this forum, is the day I actually eat a baby.

I think there's some reference to his modship in the back of the Bible. It's in this weird section called "Revelations". Something about an Anti-Christ or some stuff like that.
