You have a good point there. Plus 44 still the rest of the year to finish off the project. I think planning for the new album will start in January, not be released in January. I'm saying this because the last album they basically started in January and it came out in November. So, if they decide to record the same way, the new album will probably come out during the fall..?

You are both right. They originated on the punk scene. If it wasn't for bands like The Vandals, Pennywise, The Descendents, and NOFX, blink wouldn't be around today. They are a pop-punk band, and actually used to say things like "Keep supporting punk rock." when they were at awards shows and whatnot. They probably stopped doing this because they got tired of being called sellouts.

This irritates me to no end. The last time I checked, "punk" was supposed to be about social tolerance, change, giving outcasts a place to fit in, and so on. Yet everytime any punk band of any kind becomes successful, they are called sellouts. Punk is the only genre where there exists an element that seems almost self-defeating.

Look at Rise Against right now, they clearly have political and social messages in a lot of their work, yet just because they signed with Geffen, and are on TV where they might actually spread their message to a wider audience and influence and inspire more like-minded, yet untapped people, they are called sellouts. I saw this first-hand when I saw them open for Bad Religion last year. It was the most ridiculous ****ing thing I'd ever seen. Even one of my friends who was a huge Rise Against fan months earlier was sitting there shouting the same things as these other idiots. Even BR, who we were there to see, had gone through something similar in previous years. I ****ING HATE IT!!!!

Hey, sorry I wasn't here for the last couple days, I was out of town for baseball. Anyways, I don't know if I would get that CD. Just because there isn't much on there that I haven't heard on seen. The DVD and that it is live would make it nice to get but, I could settle just for DVD and be fine. That's not the greatest hits album that's coming out either, that's just a concert.

Ramones would probably have been referred to as punk, but Descendents etc were referred to as melodic punk, before that genre became pop-punk

Yes, he did play for the Aquabats. When blink and the Aquabats were touring, blink needed a drummer because Scott left. Therefore, Travis filled in for blink and learned the whole set in about 30 minutes. From then on, Travis became blink's drummer.

Yes, he did play for the Aquabats. When blink and the Aquabats were touring, blink needed a drummer because Scott left. Therefore, Travis filled in for blink and learned the whole set in about 30 minutes. From then on, Travis became blink's drummer.

Plus with a new one probably coming out next year, I'd expect it to be something more like a First 10 Years compilation or something.

Also, the radio DJ says blink has broken up, but Travis does nothing to correct her. He says Mark Hoppus is willing to work so, they started the new project. Well, from that I believe that Tom was the real reason why blink went on this break. Anyway check that out, and we'll have something to talk about here.

Do you have a date from when that interview was? I hearda radio interview with Travis a long time ago, like February or March and it said all that stuff. They have talked about getting back together since then.

Summer in America is winter in Australia...so that means now or around now the record should come out, which is unlikely, because they haven't had very long to make it or anything.
