That's a really, really good picture of blink-182 in their prime.
Someone want to resize that to mod avatar size? Like...250x350 or something (something in a similar ratio). :D

So, what's everybody's thoughts on blink coming back to finish the last album?
It'll hopefully be at least half decent since they had already been recording some of it prior to the "indefinate hiatus".
lol

I listened to the Buddha Demo version of Enthused and I'm impressed with how finished the song sounded; barely any differences between Dude Ranch's version and this one. It even had the feedback at the beginning and Tom played all the palm muted parts.

I dont know what it is, but I've been listening to Blink a lot the last few days. I havent given them a proper listen in a really long time, but I've been binging on them lately.
I still need to get my tickets for the +44 and AVA concerts....they're probably sold out by now, but I'm still gonna try.

I don't care what they say in the interviews. That song was clearly written about their take on what happened with Scott.
From my understanding of it, I blame blink (Tom and Mark) mostly. Scott really did get a crappy wrap.

Yeah, which I tried to convey with the random capitalization in the lyrics.
Tom's voice is awful but I love it.
Singing is about conveying some kind of emotion musically. Some people prefer "good" singers, but take a look:
Bob Dylan
Conor Oberst
Jimi Hendrix
Sting
Jesse Lacey
James Taylor
All not really good singers that just kept working and working at an original sound and are famous because of it. Not only that but everyone on that list (save Oberst) is regarded as a musical diety. :p

Conor Oberst is a "bad" singer, technique and training wise, but I like the way his voice sounds.

Vocals are all about originality and just doing it the best you can.

My band had a gig on Friday, and our drummer found out he couldn't play a few hours before we were due to be on stage. We ended up sticking one of our guitarists on drums, and played a few Blink covers. It went a lot better than we expected, the crowd seemed to love Blink when we thought the majority would hate them.
We ended up playing Dammit, Carousel and What's My Age Again, and would have done Going Away To College but the guitarist didn't know the drums to it.

Nothing wrong with a 4 minute intro, as long as there is actually stuff happening. Thats the only real problem I had with the AVA song, is it was that same effect or whatever looped about 6 million times with some variations.

He has a tendency to look a bit awkward at times, but that might be because he has to hold one of his arms out of the way the entire time.

I think he fractured it while they were making the music video for WYHSB. They then proceeded to go on a European tour, and Travis couldn't figure out why his arm hurt so bad. So three months or something after he fractured it, he decided to get an x-ray, and that's when he found out.
And ya, I remember hearing something about a tumor on his arm that might have been cancerous. But I'm pretty sure it turned out not to be.
Oh, and I didn't think that video of Tom was that bad. He sounded like he was on the verge of tears, but other than that, he sounds pretty much like...Tom.

Yeah but most if not almost all pop punk now is the Blink style of pop punk. Green Day was more punk and later more rock where as Blink were more pop and most popular pop punk bands are a lot more like Blink than Green Day and The Offspring.
Pop punk has got more poppier and that is down to Blink's influence.

Travis always seemed like a nice guy who was just happy to be in the band and to be making music. Everyone says he is a tool etc, but they have no good evidence to back up their claims. Seems like they are just jumping on the bandwagon because they claim he changed the band too much and that their cd's with Scott were better.
Travis wasn't the reason Blink turned poppier, it was the change to a major label. And it wasn't even a fast change, the only reason Enema sounds significantly different to Dude Ranch is because the production is vastly superior.
Just my little belief on the matter of Travis hating.

I dont think Travis changed the band at all. I think the band was always what Mark and Tom and later just Tom wanted it to sound like, other than in drum work i dont think he had much influence compared with the other two. Im not jumping on a bandwagon because ive never really liked him. He might be good on drums but for Blink material he really adds little more than Scott did. I dont blame him for anything seen as i wasn't a Blink fan before Enema of the State and i think that and Dude Ranch are on a par as their best albums.
Enema was a big change from Dude Ranch, before Enema they sounded more like a poppier NOFX but you could here very little of their more punkish roots after Dude Ranch.

Yeah.
Travis can't be blamed for anything really, as he didn't have any real influence at all, other than drums. But he really did no more for Blink than perhaps take them in a somewhat more serious direction (Personality wise, because Scott would have been more like Mark and Tom and tried to dick around as much as possible).

Anthem and Anthem pt. 2 are the best Blink songs.
And I don't care what you think

Good post. No one has met Travis but alot of people think they know what goes on behind closed doors. The part about the production quality is also very true as if you listed to the enema state demos it doest sound as clean and poppy as the final versions.

My favourites are the mostly the more serious blink songs.
Adam's Song, Stay Together For The Kids, Man Overboard, Stockholm Syndrome, Wasting Time, I Wont Be Home For Christmas (Best Christmas song ever written) Pathetic, Dumpweed, Obvious, Dammit (live, it's the best live song ever written, but on the album, it kinda bores me.) Enthused, What's My Age Again, Anthem Pt. II...
I think I'll just say I like every blink song...

Really, there aren't too many Blink songs I don't like.
Travis is definitely a different personality than Mark or Tom or even Scott.
